The battery has failed in all likelihood. The charge indicator on phones is not accurate as it only measures voltage and not amperage. Most Samsung devices use batteries that are not intended to be run completely dead. New batteries should be allowed to discard to less than 10% and fully recharged the first 4times of use. After that it ddoesn't matter when it's recharged.

Should I allow the power pack to run completely down before recharging?

There are a couple schools of thought on this subject. I work at a battery store and usually tell customers that they will get more cycles out of their battery if they only drain it to about half and then recharge. In my opinion you're doing the best thing for your battery. Lithium Ion batteries dont like heat and they shouldn't be drained all the way down.

Is your Samsung SL202 flashing a yellow light and not charging its battery?

This is an indication that your camera has decided it needs to completely discharge its battery before the charge cycle begins it again.

Rechargeable batteries last longer and perform better when they are completely discharged before being recharged. This is normal.

I hope that helps.

Computer say its always charging even when not on charger

Based on the symptoms I would suspect a failed lithium battery. Most people think they should keep their lithium batteries at 100% but that actually shortens the life (number or recharges). I always suggest that you should try and let your laptop run down to 50% before recharging. Leaving a laptop constantly plugged in results in the same outcome - constant recharging of small amounts so you can see that the 'life cycle' is related to the number of times you recharge and if you are constantly doing it then you will most likely be shortening the battery's useful life. Unfortunatley most laptops will not run without the battery so the user's only option is to run their laptops on battery and not plugged in to AC until at least 50% dissapation thus optimizing the battery.
Just in case you have not done this, try removing and reseating the battery. Jarring of the laptop can somtines alter a good connection but from what you said it is unlikely.

First try a REFRESH by discharging it COMPLETELY than re-charging it COMPLETELY (do that 4-6 times) nice week end project ha!, than if it still won't charge completely ASK FOR A REPLACEMENT OR REFUND... (if it's new it should be under waranty)

Good luck!

Once the unit is charged how long does the battery run dry

Once fully charged, it will last for about 4 hours, if it is used without shutting down. The good thing is that it comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery. That can be recharged once it is weak. I will strongly advice that you do not allow the battery run down completely before recharging as the battery might become weak and unable to hold a charge. So do not let your gps die before recharging. you can charge once it is low.

Help with s630 Digital Camera

Rechargable batteries actually do not recharge the 100 times advertised. After maybe 10 times they are reduced in capacity noticably. For instance, new alkaline batteries will last me maybe 60 pictures, however the rechargables are only good for about 5. To test this try taking out the batteries, and put back in before you wish to try them, also turn off the flash if it is not needed.(flash uses a lot of power)

S630 lens out and wont turn on

Cameras belonging to the S Series really do have a battery type option that needs to be set up first for proper power connection.

Recommended batteries are just:
- Alkaline (Non-rechargeable)
- Nickel-metal Hydride (Rechargeable)

Just the proper battery type by:

- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options
like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU

Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds
so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.

As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures.

ALKALINE (Non-rechargeable) batteries when set to the correct battery type will really take a maximum of 100 pictures.

For the Rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH), when those are fully charged, and the battery type is set to Ni-MH, it will be taking more than a hundred of course.

I hope this help you a lot.

Battery Low with NiMH (won't turn on) OK with Alkaline

Not the camera obviously - works OK Replace the NiMah batteries- get several sets and keep one set in the bag charged with one set in the camera. You may be able to 'refresh' the original batteries by putting them into a small flashlight and running them until the bulb goes out. This discharges them completely- then recharge. It is said batteries have a 'memory' so that a battery that is down say 50% and recharged will only recharge that 50% and the other 50% is lost for use. So you have to flatten the batteries completely
