The owner's manual says not to connect the power cord of the samsung until after you have made the HDMI connection. Try disconnecting the power cord for a few minutes. When you plug in and turn on, all should be well.
If that does not work, you may have a bad HDMI cord - try another one.

Im using coaxial cords to hook up a Samsung DVD player to my westinghouse TV and it keep saying no signal

"no signal" typically means that you have hooked your player to one input, but have selected a different input on your TV. Best is to use an HDMI cable, not coaxial.

How can I connect a samsung bdf5900 to my hitachi rear projection tv

Your TV is probably older and has Component, Composite and DVI connectors. HDMI is a newer connector that integrates sound. If your RPTV does not have HDMI but DOES have DVI, you can get an HDMI to DVI adapter on eBay or a computer store pretty cheap. You will need another way to get the sound from the Blu-Ray player, either external speakers connected to the player, or stereo RCA cables from the player to the TV (there will be a set of RCA audio plugs with the TV's DVI port).

Can I hook my cable box into my Sharp Blu ray player

Curious why you would want to do this since both cable box and BluRay generate output signals. I doubt a single line pass-through would work since the last device on the link would override the signal with its own content when turned on.

If your TV or media system accepts multiple inputs, I would route each device to a separate input on the TV/MS and switch between them with a remote. I run HDMI lines out from both my cable box and BluRay box directly into the TV as two different lines and it works fine.

HOW TO HOOK UP HDTV CONVERTER TO PLAY VIDEO ON TV

Need more specifics. What TV do you have? If you just want to hook up the blueray, you can use an HDMI cable from DVD to TV, or red-blue-green component video cables, or red-white-yellow cables.

HDMI - no output Samsung P1600 BD

the hdmi output generally needs activating through the menu system. im assuming you havent already done this.
connect it with whatever cable works and navigate through to the menu system to select the hdmi output.
failing that it might be the hdmi cable is an older cable not capable of supporting ver1.3

My HDMI connection does not work with Blu Ray DVD player. I have tried a Sony (BDP - BX2 ) model and Samsung (BD-P1590). It could not even display the Home screen for the Sony. The Samsung played for 1 day...

After reading your post a couple of times, it just seems your are in a little of a pickle here. The only thing I can suggest, since your tv will work with fios and not the your BD player(I assuming your using the same port on the tv with the same hdmi cable), is all about firmware. Maybe your tv is not compatible with the the BD player. Try updating the firmware on the tv.

When trying to connect my 4695D to a new Sony Blu Ray player BD 560 using HDMI with the output set on the Blu Ray to 1080P I cannot get a signal to appear on the TV. If I change the output to 720P I am...

The problem has been solved. A previous post to this site was having a similar problem hooking up a Playstation Blu Ray player to the same TV.

A solution was posted to that problem and I followed the same instructions.

It has to do with the set up porgram on the Blu Ray component. You need to select Settings then 108024Bit needs to be set to off.

Cant figure out to hook up keeps saying no signal with hdmi cable to tv and blu ray put in

What kind of TV are you hooking the dvd player up to ? You may have to go into the TVs menu and set the input to the proper resolution or input style to see a picture. The dvd outputs a 1080i and if the TV is set to 720p it may not show a picture, the dvd output can also be changed to match the TV.

BLue ray DVD player

I am not sure about the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-Ray Disc Player: But the Samsung BD-P1000 Blu-Ray Disc Player requires HDMI cable
to give the best resolution (1080p) possible that the TV set is able
to support. Hope this helps.

No connection/ no signal

Either the new BlueRay player is defective, the HDMI port on the player is defective, or the port on your set is defective.

Try connecting it with component RGB/AV cables, or S-Video/AV cables and see if everything works. If so, then you know that it is either the port on the BlueRay, or the port on the TV set.

To test the HDMI port on your TV, you will need another HDMI device to try.
