Onkyo dr s2.0 DVD receiver has subwoofer output but no other speakers have sound. I have experience with electronics. Is there fuses for the preamps and power outputs separate from the main in ?

I heard a couple of snaps last time it was turned on but it continued to work then but would not come on next time. Just the subwoofer works

Hello Todd, I would not suggest trying to repair this unit yourself. I suggest an authorized service but it might be difficult getting parts. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Hello Fixya team, I need help!

To set up your home theater system with the equipment you mentioned, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the Onkyo receiver to the NEC TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure the HDMI input on the TV is set to the correct input for the Onkyo receiver.
  2. Connect the Panasonic DVD player to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the Firestick Lite to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  4. Connect the Panasonic speakers to the Onkyo receiver using speaker wires. Make sure you connect the speakers to the correct speaker terminals on the receiver, which are usually labeled with the speaker's position (e.g. front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right).
  5. Configure the Onkyo receiver to use the correct input for each device. For example, set the input to "DVD" when you want to watch a movie on the Panasonic DVD player, or set the input to "Firestick" when you want to watch content on the Firestick Lite.
  6. Configure the audio settings on the Onkyo receiver to use the correct audio format for your content. For example, if you are watching a movie with Dolby Digital surround sound, make sure the receiver is set to decode Dolby Digital audio.
  7. Adjust the volume and other audio settings on the Onkyo receiver as needed to optimize the sound quality.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy surround sound audio from your Panasonic speakers through the Onkyo receiver.

I have 1 center channel pre-out on back of my kenwood receiver. how do i hook it to the inputs on onkyo m-282 amp and then to center channel speaker?

Unfortunately can't connect it that way. The pre out is only meant to go directly into an amplifier that has all of the same inputs (front/rear, center and surround), not a standard receiver. (Pre amp to amp only, not pre amp to receiver) If your Onkyo doesn't have all the same inputs as your Kenwood preamp has outputs you will just use your standard left/right outputs from the Kenwood to your Onkyo input (CD, Tape, Phono,DVD etc) then use the outputs (front/rear, center and surround) from your Onkyo receiver and connect directly to your speakers..

How do I connect my Acoustimass® 5 Series III Stereo Speaker System to my Onkyo SR506 av receiver?

Well, first of all this speaker system is designed to give you a subwoofer where you do not have a sub-woofer output on your receiver/amp. However, that is not the case with the Onkyo. The way I would set it up (only because of the speakers you have) according to the Acoustimass Manual. You take the left and Right "Speaker" outputs to the Left and Right input on the Acoustimass and the speakers crossover does the rest. The Onkyo is designed to have a powered subwoofer so in this format you would just tell the receiver to turn off the sub channel which would tell the Onkyo to send the low end to LR. That should do it.

Connecting an onkyo m282 to a vintage (1994)onkyo tx905 receiver

I have found the solution.

Using an Audioplex SPKCNV Speaker Level To Line Level Converter should resolve the connection issue.

Very low ouput from subwoofer preout

The problem was that some subwoofers (inluding my velodyne model) cannot process the LFE signals through the line level inputs on its amps, so the other way to run your subwoofer is to run the front left and right speaker outputs from your receiver to the speaker-level inputs on your sub, and then plug your front and left speakers into the soeaker level outputs on the sub. you have to set the onkyo receiver to "Subwoofer: No". that way the LFE signals are sent through the front speaker channels and you will get the same BASS output as if using the line-level input. O So yes it does require a bit more speaker cable, but it works fine now.

Connecting a passive subwoofer!

I believe the sub output that uses a RCA plug is not amplified and wouldn't work in your case.

Onkyo TX-SR304

Onkyo offers access to manuals at their web site. HERE is a link to the receiver line.

Personally, I'd connect the speakers to main left/right. The subwoofer to subwoofer out. The Go VIdeo unit to VCR/Video 1, the cable box to Video 2 and the video output to the Sony TV composite input. No need to connect the TV audio out to the receiver since the audio feed comes from the cable box.

Problems with Onkyo DR-S2.2

sounds like you have uneven flow of electricity. Try to plug the receiver in its own power socket

also make sure it has plenty of clearance for airflow b/c the receiver is shutting down to stop further damage of the receiver either b/c of heat or power surges.

good luck

smeags.
