Car Adaptor I lost the original Car Adaptor for my Polaroid PDV-0700. I bought an aftermarket adaptor and am not sure what voltage to set it to and how to read the polarity diagram on the DVD play to know whether the polarity needs to be set to positive or negative. Can you help Thanks, John Lisco

We also bought a universal adapter. I think we had it on the wrong polarity and it broke the DVD player. Now it doesn't spin the disc or show the picture.

Have durabrand portable DVD player with 7in TFT LCD Display. Code PVD-705U. Have losted the AC Adaptor. Is it possible to buy new Adaptor.JOE

Just take the voltages of that bad boy and the poloarity any universal adaptor will work just fine. Do notget cought up in the garbage that it will not. Radioshack is your good freind on this. You do not need a duraband AC adaptor you can use a universal one at best.

Thanks and please do leave postive feedback.

Where i find ac dc adaptor durabrand portable pdv 705

You should go to a local electronics shop with the old adaptor.
They merely need to match: Voltage in Voltage out Current requirements Plug size Plug polarity (center positive or negative) There is nothing "magic" about the original vendors power adapter.

AC/DC Adaptor

Greetings jack71471, there are a couple options to obtain a replacement AC adapter for your Durabrand DVD player. One option is to purchase a universal adapter from a store such as Radio Shack. The other option is to buy a dedicated 9 volt AC replacement adapter from a couple sources on eBay. Just do a search for "PDV-709 adapter" and you will find some AC adapters and 12 volt car adapters as well. If you choose the universal replacement option, make sure you bring the player and adapter with you so the salesperson can configure the settings and polarity to match the original adapter. That is unless you are confident enough to set it yourself, in which case you can purchase a universal adapter most anywhere as long as the current rating ( rated in milliamps or "ma") is equal to or greater than the original. Best of luck to you.

The battery will not charge. The player was bought 10 mnths ago

Test the voltage at the end of the power supply cord. perhaps the cord is broken or the power supply is dead. The output voltage should be listed on the adapter or by the DC input jack on the unit.
