Nikon coolpix s9500 no power and not charging

Step 1) plug Charger adapter into mains. Step 2) Plug cable into camera. If you have the cable plugged into the camera and then plug it into mains it will not charge.

New batteries still require a FULL charge. (unless they are not rechargeable)

This can be normal behaviour for some cameras, especially older ones. I don't think that you have anything to worry about unless this behaviour has only recently started. Have you raised this with Nikon customer support? Nikon Service and Support Nikon Customer Service Nikon Support

You've tried shooting in a dark room? With a fully charged battery? With the camera set to "auto"?

The Wi-Fi connection requires installing a Wireless Mobile Utility to the smart device prior to use. And the Utility must be On.
Compatible OSs: iOS 6.0 or later, Android 2.3 or later

The Wi-Fi connection will be disabled if:

• The battery charge is low
• A memory card is not inserted
• An Eye-Fi card is inserted

Sounds like you have a bad battery. Check your users manual for how to change it.

mucky/greasy lens?

I had my camera a few months before it started freezing. I'd return it if I could.

i had this problem, and like a dunce just needed to read the directions more clearly. manual indicates that the cable needs to be plugged in by a certain order. see page 14 of the manual. can't believe that was all that was necessary to clear all my frustration!
