Open the laptop and under the control panel tab you will see printers and devices
click on that and at the top click on add a printer
click on the local printer
connect the printer and switch on
follow the installer wizard directions

Why does lexmark prospect pro 205 says paper jam when there is no paper jam

may be there is problem with paper path sensor faulty or maybe broken or may be the problem with power of the paper path sensor there should be 5v dc present on sensor

Hook up external harddrive

Need more info. Is it a USB connected external drive? Is it a newer laptop(windows 7). If both of these are yes, just plug the external drive into your laptop and windows should detect it and allow you to format for use if necissary. Also, if you purchased it, it may have come with a disk. If this is the case, don't hook anything up, put the disk in, and follow the insturctions. Hope this helped.

How can I get my IPad 2 to print on a Lexmark Prospect Pro 205, without keeping my laptop wired to the printer? I do not have a desktop.

Your printer and the devices trying to print from it should be connected to the same network. If it is, download our LexPrint app to your iPad http://bit.ly/IMbDlq. Since the Lexmark Pro205 is not AirPrint compatible, you would need the LexPrint Listener installed to a host computer.

Our latest Inkjet printers are already compatible with AirPrint.
