The transmission fluid you use should have a Ford approval number on the back of the bottle. If it doesn't, then any warranty done by a Ford Dealer on the trans since 1996 is void. Most trans have a 100K mile warranty when new and after any complete replacements. Using the wrong Spec. trans fluid will damage the transmission and always check the level when the engine is hot as ATF expands when heated. Mobil ATF D/M will work... Mobil Synthetic ATF won't in your Explorer! Ford comes with Exxon ATF from the factory and owners state that it's not the best.
check your heater control cable and check your coolant control valve for vacuum operations. control valve located under hood @ coolant hoses leading to the heater core. cable operates a blend door inside truck under dash/behind glove box.. this should help
How long have you had the vehicle? If you purchased used. someone may have bypassed the core. Make sure all lines are connected. Is the blend door moving when you select heat/cool?
This can be cause by many things, such as a fuel pump going bad / or is bad, fuel injectors need cleaned / replaced, fuel filter dirty just to name a few. Could also have a vapor lock where the fuel line is running to close to a heat source like the manifold or engine and the heat creates a vacum in the fuel line stopping the flow of fuel. Best bet have a garage repair shop look at it. To many hit and miss causes.
