My XE-A201 reset itself overnight. I did reprogram, but next morning was reset again.
The machine reset itself.
I tried to reset again (unplugging the machine) during the day to start to reprogram, but didn't work (didn't make the noise), so I did reprogram the machine with title, departments, etc, BUT next morning start reset itself again, after 4 sales all was reset to the original point?
What I am doing wrong?
The instructions says I need take out the batteries. In 10 years I never had problems with the machine and never change any batteries. Do they have batteries?
Regards

Is it doing anything else like the dash clock resets itself? Check all of your fuses. My bet is if the clock is resetting itself every time the engine is turned off, the fuse running that circuit is also the permanent power supply to the immobiliser and central locking.
Hi. It sounds like you either have no batteries in it, or they are flat. They are located under the paper roll (3xAA batteries). They hold the memory when the machine is off.

Anyone need a Sharp XE-A201 manual? Here:

Hi. E01 is a registration error. That tells me that you didn't finish in REG mode before turning to PROGRAM. Go back to REG and finish the sale first, then go back to prog and try again. E35 means open price inhibited, so it is set for priced depts at the moment. It looks like you are going to set the department for two taxes, negative entry, and open price. The 8 is incorrect, as G can only be 0 to 7, so set to 7 to allow large values in the dept. Are you sure you want it to be a negative dept? This means it will total backwards (refunding the customers purchase each time). The standard code for two taxes would be 00110073
You need to remove paper tray, and unplug canon. Leave it this way overnight, and in the morning, reinsert the paper tray, and plug back it. This should effectively reset the machine, and clear that error. It worked for me!
sounds like when you moved it you created an air lock, when moving fridges etc. should always leave for 24 hrs to settle before plugging in.... , no guarantee but try laying it down and leaving overnight then stand it up again and leave for at least 24 hrs for the refrigerant to try and sort itself out. UNPLUGGED from mains of course... good luck
Do it again, only this time unplug any video and audio inputs and outputs, unplug it from any power source, and leave it sit overnight.
I had the same problem with my Hitachi. I called a local repair shop and he said to unplug it for 10 minutes and start it again. That didn't work so I got it ready to take to the shop. I disconnected everything. The next morning I decided to check it one more time so I reconnected everything. It worked just as it had before.
