For the past couple of weeks, the freezer will loose its cool enough to thaw or partially thaw what is in it, but two or three hours later it will be frozen again. Keeps going back and forth. Ideas?

Possible problem thermostat or freezer setting to close to one setting
reset to a bigger number as the numbers work opposite to the fridge settings ( 1 is close to 0 degrees and 20 is -20 degrees ) where as in a fridge 1 is close to 0 degrees and 5 is + 5 degrees above 0

My GE side-by-side is not cooling.

The electronic control board is probably your culprit. These control boards control the compressor, fans and defrost. Look for any burned spots on the printed circuit bout it could be just bad.

Not getting any water out of the dispenser, but its making ice

The water dispenser on my GE profile fridge stopped working for a couple days. The refrigerator and freezer temperatures have fluctuated over the past several months causing fridge items to periodically freeze and freezer items to periodically thaw. GE tech came today identified a bad circuit board, which he replaced for a cool $300. Ouch. Fridge is only three years old. Oh yeah, the icemaker also has a broken tab which causes it to jam every couple weeks. We have GE Profile appliances throughout our kitchen and they all work great except for the fridge :-( I hope GE engineers read this post. If so, get to work! LOL

My freezer will freeze for about 2weeks then it starts to get warm when I turn it off for about 6hrs it will refreeze

It sounds to me like the defrost isn't working somewhere. It freezes for 2 weeks until the evaporator coil freezes over and you lose your airflow, hence, your cooling. Then when you shut the unit off for 6 hours it thaws out enough to get you cooling again for 2 weeks.Check your defrost timer and see if it is going into defrost and if your defrost elements are good. Both will be located on top of the unit. Good luck!

Refrigerator seems to just turn off for a day or so every two or three weeks and all the freezer items melt. Kicks back on after some time and works fine for another 2-3 weeks then repeats. Have unplugged...

Most Refrigerators have a defrost timer which cycles every couple of weeks, typically for several hours, in order to let any residual ice melt from the cooling system. If yours cycles long enough for the freezer items to melt, it should be replaced.

Drain in freezer plugs up

sometimes can be solved by loosely coiling a piece of solid copper wire around the defrost heating element and down into the drain a little. the radiant heat on the wire during defrost cycle may help keep the drain open

Frigidaire upright freezer Model #FFU17C3AW1 Not keeping cold

Yes that is the correct part number.
If a new cold control does not correct the problem. Replace the compressor start relay.
