SOURCE: my ge profile washing machine went off balance and

Hhi, It could be the basket brackets have jump over the shipping bracket and will not let the basket center it self.
There are 2 clips in the gap between the top and thefront panels. use a flat blade and push in on the clips releasing the front panel. It will lift off. The bracket I mentioned is located under the motor. There are 2 brackets and they have holes in them. If the basket is lodged against these 2 brackets, just bend them down toward the bottom to get htem out of the way. They serve no purpose. While you have the front off, the basket hangs on each corner. Make sure eash corner is still attatches to the hangers.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Check motor brushes for wear. Brush length is about 30mm new; 10mm or less is too short to do what they're meant to.

SOURCE: My GE washer basket makes a rattle sound when

The best option is to look at the source of noise than to specilate on a whole list of possibilities.
Please use a good lighting to look from the underside of the washer . Now rotate the main shaft, rotate the drum and check.
The fault can be poor spindle assembly, check bearings, belts.
Also it can be that some foregn objects have lodged into the tub from any clothes during the wash. so check this out, if so remove after dismandling.
Please proceed to check and respond.

GE WBXR1060TAWW, Top loading high capacity washer. I need the specs, capacity and number of speeds?

The (X) in the model number stands for extra large (2.7cu ft) capacity. The 1 stands for single speed. The 6 stands for 6 cycles. It should have a white plastic clothes basket. More expensive models had a stainless basket. Hope this helps you.

GE WCVH6260Fww knocks during spin

Had the same GE model number and similar problem. The basket (stainless steel) doesn't look centered in the unit anymore, you can tell when looking around the perimeter of the basket and compare to the rubber gasket. On front load washers the basket (the stainless piece that spins), if the door is open and if you push up on the basket there should be very very little to NO play or give . Meaning the basket should not be able to move up, down, side to side (not talking about spinning, just north, south, east, west). If there is play or movement there is a very good chance (thinking 95% sure) that it is the bearing. Not good news for any front washer but GE in all it's wisdom set it's crack engineers out to design this unit so that the bearing is not an individual part, this design has the basket (THE ACTUAL STAINLESS BASKET), THE SUPPORT ROD AND BEARINGS AS A SINGLE PIECE. The "Basket Assembly" alone is between $550 and $650, before tax, before labor if you don't do it yourself. If you decided to tackle this yourself you have to totally disassemble the entire unit to replace it. No exaggeration, you literally have to take the entire outer tub assembly apart to replace. If you are able to accomplish this without damaging any other part then you have to Humpty Dumpty back together again, without damaging anything else. Hope this helps.

The aggitator slips

t's supposed to be that way. If you could pull it up whenever you wanted, what would keep it from flying off during a wash cycle? The agitator is loosened from a bolt underneath the wash basket. Do not try that or you could damage the washer. Only a repairman or someone who has worked on washers should do that. Only if you had an article fall apart in the washer (a rug, feather pillow, etc.) should that area truly need cleaning. Call any GE repair shop. If this is under warranty and you have ( as shown ) the model #...........a repair inspector can fix this washer free. Have all your place of purchase documents with you. The agitator's movement back and forth is important for the cleaning of your laundry. If it doesn't function properly, your clothes won't be as clean as possible. If your agitator does not move, moves only in one direction or its movement is very weak, you will probably need to remove the agitator. Furthermore, in order to inspect the tub for leaks, the clutch assembly, the splines, or to remove the spin drum, you will have to remove the agitator.

Grease Spots

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.

Where can I clean lint out of GE front-loader washing machine

You don't give the model number, so I can not know for sure. That being said, on newer front load GE washers there is a filter access right on the lower side of the very front of the machine. On many slightly older GE front load washers you will have to take the lower portion of the front panel off to find a filter access. On them, it is usually a bit to the right side, about an inch and a half round removable plug with filter attached. Be advised that when you take it out the remaining water from inside the machine and it's pump and hoses will also come out, so be prepared.
