Honestly - go to AutoZone and look at the repair manuals. They let you look at them for free! You can get good info without buying it. Or look it up online. Usually on those, you have to take the plastic off the steering column directly behind the wheel. Then you can get to the ignition switch. Just a tip - look to make sure it wasn't recalled - the dealership will do it for you. My mother just had her 2002 Malibu recalled, and they did it, so yours may be in the group.
Go on the passengers side and remove the side kick panel. Then the blower motor is under the dash just remove the 3 screws that hold it in and disconnect the electrical and lower the blower motor.Reverse procedure for installation.Hope this helps.Good luck.
I think there was a recal for this problem. I would go to the dealer and check and see if your vehicles has had all the recals taken care of. I have a 2004 since it was new and I took it in for a brake light recal and I believe a blower motor issue.
I got a recal notice on my 2004 Colorado for the brake light switch about a year after I purchsed it new. I would take it to the dealer and have them check and make sure there are no outstanding recals for them to fix. It might be related to the other signal light problem.
I have a 2004 Colorado since it was new. There was a recal for the blower motor problem. I think it was for a defective connector to the blower resistor assembly. There is also a recall for a bad brake light switch. I would take your truck to the dealer and get this recall work done.
On my 2004, there was a recal for a defective harness. You might want to see if there was a recal for the 2005. The resistor is located on the passenger side below the and behind the dash mounted to the air duct.
