Is there a microprocessor/software reset procedure?

Symphonic TV Model ST4913 stopped responding to the remote (verified the remote is OK) and oddly, when the power goes out and comes back on, now the TV turns on. This is annoying when you come home and find the TV on when you know it was off when you left. I was hoping the problem is microprocessor/software related and that there was some way to do master reset of the microprocessor. (My large GE set does this by unplugging and holding down the power button, then plugging back in). Does anyone know of a similar procedure for this Symphonic?

Simply disconnecting power for a period of time should reset it. I would do so over night.

Use the remote dishnet to automatically detect your code for the tv. Most of the time the procedure is on the remote.

My remote stopped working. I replaced batteries, nothing, bought a universal remote, followed directions nothing. Can the TV be the problem? Is there a factory reset on the TV?

it could be sensor on tv

try holding remote in front of a video recorder and if you push button on remote and view through video recorder you should be able to see the light blinking coming out of remote - if you see the light coming out of remote and it is still not working then the tvs sensor went bad

besides trying to unplug tv for a few minutes there is no reset for this issue

Sirs and mesdames: I have a Symphonic TV/VCR COMBO model # TVCRI3E1. The remote control part # (UREMT32SR007) is missing. Where can I find a replacement? Thanks, Ilia Rivera

Hello

Just buy one Philips Universal Remote control Model number [CL 034]. You can synchronise it with your Symphonic Combo by entering one amoung the following codes. Proceedings are also given.
Note: Switch OFF and Switch On your combo, before entering each code.

Three digit codes for Symphonic are:-
033/ 053/ 189

Four digit code for Symphonic TV/VCR combo is:-
0227

Four digit remote codes for Symphonic tv are:-
0053 0189 0227 0456 0024
Four digit codes for Funai are:-
0051 0189 0053 0227 0456 0042

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
You can also check according to the catelogue of that remote control also. The above given numbers are most common for all universal remote controls. OK.

Remote Sensor Problem

Given that both remotes work with TV2, more likely the IR sensor on TV1 is defective.
The problem could also be in the microprocessor itself as well.
