By recommendation from this site, I called Whirlpool and was ready to do battle since my Cabrio washer was well out of warranty. As soon as I described the F1 code a very pleasant agent immediately admitted it was a quality issue and offered immediately to set up a time for a repair free of charge. 2 days later my washer was fixed. Great experience.
Call Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301, ask for an agent, tell them "you have the F1 problem so many other people have".
They scheduled a repair for me at no expense. They indicated this is a quality problem.
Good luck!

F1 means the control board is shot. Call whirlpool and they should take care of the parts and labor even though your machine is out of warranty.
SOURCE: fault code F1 is flashing on my cabrio washer
I have just gotten off the phone with Whirlpool for an F1 error on my cabrio washer. They are arranging for someone to come and fix my machine at their cost. It appears to be a common problem. Call Whirlpool and set it up. Good Luck.
SOURCE: why does F1 code show and the washer stop
Hi,
The "F1" error code on the Whirlpool cabrio is quite common, and generally has to do with the control board. Replacing the control panel may resolve this issue. However, I believe Whirlpool is aware of the F1 issue with the Cabrio, and is fixing some machines for free. Please call 1-800-253-1301 for more details and see if you are eligible for a free repair.
Thank you !!

Hello,
The F1 error means that water pressure into the washer is out of range...the control on the washer learns the water pressure coming in from when it was brand new it is capable of learning just the water pressure to your house since it will vary from your neighbors...after it has learned what the normal pressure is if it doesnt see that normal pressure coming into the washer it will throw up the F1 error code
What to check is if water is coming into the washer from the rubber fill hoses with as much pressure as always did...things that could cause lesser pressure is; kinked/crushed fill hose, sediment built up in the filter screens inside of the water inlet valve( can be checked by turning off water and removing hoses and pop screen out from the back of washer where the hoses connect to)
If the filter screens are clear and water seems to coming from the hoses with good pressure...the washer control board would need to be replaced

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
F1 error in your whirlpool cabrio indicates bad
control board and should be replaced to resolve the error code. However, you can
contact Whirlpool as well prior to replacing the control yourself as I have
seen whirlpool paying for the parts themselves just because this is known to be
a common issue. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
