Try starting the WiDi software in your Windows 8 device (and make sure that you have latest software, and DLNA enabled), then go to SmartShare in LG television. There should be WiDi icon visible. Select that - your windows 8 device should now show ask whetehr you allow the connection. Answer yes. The screen sharing should work after that.

Unless your CD's are DTS-encoded, you can only SIMULATE surround or employ Digital Sound Processing from stereo sources to create virtual sound spaces and effects. The manual describes it on page 13.

There is nothing as a compatibility issue between brands.Try playing an entire audio Cd by keeping the volume of your LG at zero. Listen only through the TV speakers. If it sound OK with out stoppages you have some DVD read issue in your LG player.Return the LG to the store and get it replaced.

The music files in your ipod is in a different format and not mp3 format which will not be recognizable if you connect it to your LG tv. Unfortunately your tv will just read mp3 files.

Try to find on Media Player and set it play via Bluetooth!

stupid question, but you do have an optical lead connected? the hdmi will only produce stereo sound, you must also have an optical lead (aka tos link cable) connected to produce 5.1
