I need codes for a Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver. The codes listed turn it on but not off. Can you help??

The codes that come with the new Xfinity voice remote for Yamaha do not turn the power off to the receiver but they will turn on and adjust volume.

Joseph, codes 0081,0082,0176, 0186, 1176, the attached manual may have more codes.
Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver, try the auto programming feature on your remote to set up universal remote. It is possible the remote may not support your equipment and you will have to replace with compatible remote. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V800 volume knob on receiver not working.

It sounds like the volume control pod has gone bad and needs replaced (The knob shaft connects to the pod main body and the inside of the volume pod is what controls the rate of volume,If the inside becomes worn ,broken or dirty the volume will become erratic) Replace volume pod ! ..You may try cleaning by taking off the volume knob and getting a can of pressure air and blowing the dust out!

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V995 receiver turns on & then powers off 2 seconds late

I suggest you run self diag.  press [FM/AM] key + [Input mode] key and press the [power/standby] switch.

ps prt = power supply problem
dc prt = shorted output or leakly cap in channel
tmp prt means to hot on heatsink

you'll likely have to measure the resistances of the output FETs to find a short,

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver powers off, in case it becomes louder

Hey, yeah that can be frustrating.

When you turn it up do you hear the relay or a clicking sound, then you turn it on and it comes back below the +2db?

Try unplugging All the speaker wires from the unit. Turn on the unit and listen for the click.
after the click, turn it up past the 2+ db mark and see if you hear it click or shut down. If it did not click off, then suspect a shorted crossover on one of your speakers.
2nd test is to plug in One speaker, and test it at high volume, it will not harm it. If it shuts off disconnect that speaker and try another. Only one at a time.
If it works at high volume, you need to isolate one of your speakers and i bet it has a shorted crossover that has been cooked. P.S. If one is bad, suspect they will fail at a later date.
If they all fail, use a friends speaker and try it before sending it to a repair shop.

P.S. i found one on ebay i think you can get for under $100 bucks in the box.

How to factory reset Yamaha RAV 352 remote for use with RX-V2500 receiver

To perform a factory reset on a Yamaha RAV 352 remote for use with an RX-V2500 receiver, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the RX-V2500 receiver using its power button or remote control.
2. On the remote, press and hold the "VCR 1" and "ON/STANDBY" buttons simultaneously. Hold both buttons for about five seconds until the remote's indicator light blinks twice.
3. Release the buttons. The remote control should now be reset to its factory default settings.
4. Test the remote by using it to control the RX-V2500 receiver. Make sure the remote is within range and pointed towards the receiver's IR sensor.
If the factory reset doesn't resolve any issues you're experiencing with the remote control, you may need to try replacing the batteries or consider getting a replacement remote from Yamaha or an authorized dealer.
Please note that the steps provided are based on general instructions for Yamaha remotes, and there might be slight variations in the specific procedure for your RAV 352 model. Consulting the user manual for your specific remote or contacting Yamaha customer support can provide you with more accurate and detailed instructions tailored to your device.

I need to program my Yamaha rav352 remote to my Yamaha RX-V2500 Reciever. This is not the original remote but the original required remote

To program your Yamaha RAV352 remote to your Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver, you can follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver.
  2. Press and hold the "DVD" button on your RAV352 remote until the "DVD" button lights up.
  3. Press the "Code Set" button on the remote.
  4. Enter the code "30476" using the number buttons on the remote. The "DVD" button will blink twice to confirm the code has been entered.
  5. Press the "Power" button on the remote to test if the receiver turns off. If it does, the programming was successful. If not, repeat steps 2-4 with a different code until you find the correct one.
If you're unable to find the correct code for your receiver using the above steps, you may need to try using the "Auto Search" function on the remote. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver.
  2. Press and hold the "Code Set" button on the RAV352 remote until the indicator light starts flashing.
  3. Press the "Power" button on the remote to start the Auto Search function. The indicator light will continue to flash as the remote searches for a compatible code.
  4. Once the receiver turns off, press the "Enter" button on the remote to save the code.
  5. Test the remote by pressing the "Power" button to turn the receiver back on.
Hopefully, one of these methods will successfully program your Yamaha RAV352 remote to your Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver.

My New Xfinity XR 5 remote codes will not turn my receiver on & off . OOnly control Volume & Mute.

You either have the wrong remote code or it may be a case where-as the remote will not properly operate "all" functions. Wrong programming "codes" with universal remote controls often operate some but not ALL functions and some remotes are unable to duplicate every function. If all else fails, you use two remotes with one for Xfinity and one that came with your stereo.

Where do I plug rca cables from the cable box into an RX-V2500 Yamaha receiver?

Depending on what type of connections your cable box has available you can do the following:

1) If yo only have the standard VIDEO & L R AUDIO connections you can use the DTV connection on the back of the V2500. If your cable box also has an S-VHS connection this would be the same connection to use.

2) If you have COMPONENT VIDEO connections on your cable box then you would still use the DTV connection. Looking at the back of your V2500 the regular DTV RCA connections are just to the left of center. Farther over to the left are the COMPONENT VIDEO connections. They are labeled Y, Pb, and Pr. These allow for the higher needs of HD TV transmissions. If your cable box has these connections then making use of them would allow for the best quality for your picture.

The following website has your manual available for download in case you need it:
