The temperature control is located inside the freezer on upright models, and onthe left outside wall on chest models. The temperature is factory preset to providesatisfactory food storage temperatures.
However, the temperature control is adjustable to provide a range of temperatures for your personal satisfaction. If acolder temperature is desired, turn the temperature control knob toward COLD-EST and allow several hours for temperatures to stabilize between adjustments
From what you have described it sounds like the compressor is cycling on when cooling is necessary and cycles off when the temperature inside your freezer has reached the set temperature. This is normal. If you feel that there may be some other issue occurring, feel free to go to the manufacturer website where you can easily locate a service provider in your area.
I understand that you are looking for the temperature control knob on your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU2064DW. The temperature control is located inside your freezer on upright models, and on the left outside wall on chest models. The temperature is factory preset to provide satisfactory food storage temperatures. However, the temperature control is adjustable to provide a range of temperatures for your personal satisfaction. Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was
accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the
compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other
electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until
display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to
stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently
changing the temperature setting. I ask that you please follow up with a
comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting
is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.
Hello - When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet.Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Contact a professional to move forward accurately from this point.
Hi - Generally speaking, the temperature control in a Frigidaire upright freezer is located directly behind the temperature control knob. Make sure the unit is turned off completely and the evaporator cover and gasket will need to be unscrewed to get directly to it. Before repairing or replacing any parts of your appliance, might want to consider contacting a professional to move forward accurately due to safety and liability reasons. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out be the root cause of your initial problem. I suggest this in the event that if the unit has a limited warranty and if you continue it will cause the warranty to be voided.
Good day, Manufacturers of freezers do not give the option of running the machine much above that temperature. Normal operating temperature for a freezer is about -2 to about 8 above F. Otherwise people could accidentally set the temp too warm and cause a loss of food. Some appliance parts houses carry universal thermostats that could possibly cover the temperature range your looking for, but 30 degrees is far to warm to preserve frozen food safely.
Sounds like the timer could be getting stuck and not releasing the defrost cycle. If you have to do it again, you should have the timer checked, or just replace it.
