This means that it cannot calibrate itself because the sensor is out of range. This can happen if you drop it or overload it. Check the feet on each of the for corners and make sure they are not stuck, you can do this with the unit on and see if it registers any force on the pads when you press and release them or use a screw driver to lift them SLIGHTLY. There are a lot of youtube videos on how to check and repair them.

My Salter Model 2001 kitchen scale, shows an 'ee' on the screen. This error code is not listed in the manual. Any suggestions?

"EE" means that the scale has been overloaded. Try placing a small weight (i.e. 250g block of butter) on the scale and then turning the scale off and then on again with the small weight still on the scale. What this does is to try and re-calibrate the scale. If this doesn't work then I am pretty certain that the scales will need to be replaced. The scales in question do have a 15 year guarantee and you can try contacting Salter Housewares directly if you have your proof of purchase.

Salter kitchen Scales Model: 1041SVDR won't turn on.

This sounds very typical of kitchen and postal scales. I know you don't want to hear this, but this basically means it is time to replace your scale with a better scale - perhaps no longer giving Salter your business..
