Be sure you are using the correct needle for stretch fabric.

Set your machine for a zig-zag (or stretch stitch if you have it) to accommodate the fabric stretch.

Use a good quality thread. Avoid old or bargain bin threads. Cotton thread will break easier than polyester.

You may need to adjust the tension for the fabric.

I bought a 2nd hand Necchi Lydia3 544.Tried stiching but needle thread keeps breaking. Could thread quality have anything to do with it?

Yes quality of thread could definitely affect sewing, as will a blunt/old/wrong size needle for the material used. Also must have same thread in bobbin and needle also corect thread and needle size for material sewn plus correct tension for that material too. Could be lint or tangled threads underneath needle plate too.

Asha Hello,

ok I have looked at a photo of your machine, it looks like it may have the stretch stitch. It is designated on the sewing machine per the instructions in the manual. The stitch is similar to a zigzag with a flat side to it. Check with Youtube for "stretch stitches lycra spandex". that may get you a video to watch.

My sewing machine will not stich. i have tryed everything i can find on this problem but nothings working

Make sure nothing has either gotten stuck/caught/jammed somewhere inside it. Insure that the thread stays attached to the needle. Or the material you are trying to sew/stitch may be too thick.

Hi, make sure there are no needle parts stuck in the bobbin/feed dog area. Also, make sure there is no lint in the same area. In my sewing experience, lint jams up smooth operation of all sewing machines.I would take apart the bobbin case, clean it and reinsert. Also, make sure that it has been oiled according to the instructions in your manual. Another issue which sewers forget about is changing needles....if there is a burr on a needle, threads break, don't feed properly, create more fuzz and eventually break. I hope this help you.
Happy Sewing.

I keep having problems with the stitching on my machine. 1) when you sew the stitches looks normal from the top but when you turn the material over it looks like one big tangled mess. 2)When it does...

It is usually in your top threading, make sure that your thread match in bobbin and top threads. Mixing sometimes causes a problem. Also make sure that nothing is tangled. Also, check your needle and put a new one in just to be sure, then check your manual for size of needle and what kind of project you are doing. Hope this helps.

Appearence of loop and no zigzag stich on ls-2125i brother

The loopy stitching is usually do to threading the machine with the presser foot down.

Raise the presser foot and re-thread or pull about 8" of thread through the needle and see if the loopy stitches go away.

This may also be the issue with the zig-zag stitch.

When the machine is threaded with the presser foot down, the tension is closed and the thread cannot enter as it should for the tension to control the flow of thread to the needle. The thread then feeds too fast and the stitching is distorted.
