When you connect it to the computer is it showing as a portable drive? IF so you should be able to browse it and delete them that way, or you could format it .

Deleting music sony nwz-s616f mp3 player

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. When the player is connected to your computer you can add and delete the music files. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. I dont know how to add/delete music to mp3 player

well, first welcome to the world of MP3 players. they are quite easy to use and if you know basic computers, you are all set.
first you should look at My Computer. upon connecting your MP3 (I'm assuming USB), you will see the MP3 player's name.
Double-clicking it will take you inside the MP3 player. For some manufacturers, they like to put folders to sort out the files, but if there are no folders, all you have to do is simply drop the music file (from your music folder) into the empty space.
It will transfer like a regular USB and after its done, you should be able to play it (after disconnecting of course). There are plenty of ways, such as using Windows Media Player for syncing and/or Winamp for the similar function, but what I suggested is the simplest and most basic.
Hope it helps.

Windows media player is deleting all my that has been added

it sounds like media player updates (syncs) your mp3 player when it is connected to the computer. If you had music on the mp3 player that you removed from the computer then it makes sense that when updating the mp3 player it will remove it from there also. Try leaving music on media player that you want to sync with your mp3 player and try resyncing it, hopefully this will help

Sansa 4Gb Wont let me add or delete songs anymore!

If the PC does not recognize the player, try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I STUFFED IT UP

Many times, MP3 players will play music from an "Audio" folder. Try naming the folder "Audio".
