How to install water line in side by side refridgarator

I believe you have a different problem Any air in the water line will purge itself once water is flowing. Look to see if you have water to solenoid on back bottom of refrigerator, the go the other side and see if you have water there.. If you have just installed line and filter you can disconnect the line and run water thru line and filter

You may have a bad switch....or magnet maybe out of place....sometimes its a control board but most likely not...there are magnets on the top and bottom of each door...or the switch on either side if the inside cabinet....

The problem is the water line to the dispenser is broken. The line going into the dispenser is a 5/16 line. You'll have to remove the front of the dispenser on the door to get access to the line to unclip it. Once you have that done you can pull the line out from the bottom. At this point there are a variety of different unions, compression fittings, etc. to splice the line. After that you just feed the line back through the bottom of the door, clip it back in place, put the dispenser back together and your done.

My 5 year old GE GSL25 refrigerator is leaking as well when using the water dispenser in the door. Removed kick panel to see better. The plastic water line on the door side of the union was improperly installed in a metal clip such that it was being crimped. This unintended pressure caused the water line to eventually fatigue and split. The door side of the water line needs to be replaced.

If it already has one just run a water supply line to it.

you will need to replace water valve, it's not completely closing and water is leaking a little, so it's frosted in the water line.
other choice is install heater on water line, on all new refrigerators it's installed.

this is rather easy..Go purchase a I/m water line install kit. Please measure the amount of feet this will need and buy the correct size and install the tap/saddle valve onto cold water line under sink. Then, run your water line out of the back side of sink and around baseboard or behind the cabinets to back of refrigerator. The rest is just connecting to the valve on refrigerator and check for water leaks and your finished...Bruce

The ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice


Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.

Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.

Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch
(depending on model) is in the ON position.

New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation
for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production.

Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for
ice maker to produce more ice.

Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil.

Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure

The water dispenser will not operate properly


Freezer door closed completely? Close the door firmly. If it
does not close completely, see “The doors will not close
completely.”

Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.

Is the water pressure at least 30 psi? The water pressure to
the home determines the flow from the dispenser. See “Water
Supply Requirements.”

Kink in the home water source line? Straighten the water
source line.

New installation? Flush and fill the water system.

Water filter installed on the refrigerator? The filter may be
clogged or incorrectly installed.

Is a reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply?
