Vivitek 1080 power blinks 6 times the flashes red 1 time

That indicates an error in one of the cooling fans, Fan1 (sorry, I cannot recall the physical location of Fan 1). The problem may be that something has jammed the fan and stopped it from rotating. Carefully inspect each cooling fan in turn and ensure they are free to rotate. If they all are, and the connectors are firmly plugged in to the main board, then Fan1 will have to be replaced

I hav e a vivitek 1080hd projector and it turns on for a couple of seconds then shuts off. it blinks a code of 62. 6 blue blinks of the power button then 2 red blinks of the ready button

That code indicates a fan-2 error. These projectors generate a lot of heat and depend on air circulation to keep everything cool. Make sure nothing is blocking the vents on the projector. Check the fan for lint and dust. Make sure fan spins freely and is operating correctly. Keep projector away from any other heat sources. Hope this helps.

Hook up using the S-Video port, the VGA port, RCA port, or the RS-232 port. Hope this helps.

Source not found I am using an Acer Aspire One

Make sure you are using ports other than the USB port. Vivitek Service indicates that at least some of their projectors do not use the USB port for input. "The USB port is not in input port. This is used for service only. Please use another input port such as RGB input. Regards, Vivitek Customer Service

Hope this helps.

I cannot seem to link up my projector and laptop computer

Assuming that you have all the connections between the laptop and the projector already performed, you should check in you laptop's manual what is the key combination necessary to switch between normal mode and presentation mode.

For instance, some Dell laptops need you to press the function key (key marked with Fn in blue) and, while keeping it pressed, press also the F8 key (marked with CRT/LCD in blue) to cycle between the options.

Some HP laptops will need you to do the same operation, but now using the function key and the F4 key, to select between "Computer only", "Extended (dual) presentation mode" or "Projector only" modes.

If even with these indications you are still not able to make your laptop show its information through the projector, please send us more details on how you connected your laptop to the projector, as well as the brand and model of your laptop.

Hope this information can help you!
