Same lines won't print

I have 2 iP90 printers. The same lines on a page wont print on either printer. Tried new genuine cartridges, different cables, every clean in the book, latest drivers.

Sorry, but this is impossible, as a "printer problem". This is clearly a "software/buffer/document" problem.

This can ONLY happen (on two printers, same results) if the DOCUMENT has "exclusive" properties or instruction sets, or "invalid data" for the "missing" lines. For example, you may be printing an HTML document with "DO NOT CACHE" meta tag or java instructions about specific lines or form entries. Many sites (like banks, registration, or encrypted mail/login pages) do this as a security measure to prevent critical data from being inadvertently printed (and ending up outside in trash cans for an ID thief to pilfer). Other possibilities: The lines are NOT text data, they might be IMAGES of text, and saved in a format the printer/buffer does not support. Any of these examples would allow the software to DISPLAY the specific (missing) lines of text -yet NOT print them.

To test my theory (almost a certainty really), simply open the document and select PRINT SCREEN key (or use whatever key commands capture the screen as an image). This copies what YOU see, to the clipboard as a single "image" file (instead of a variety of ASCII characters, images, and code).

Next, open "PAINT" in accessories under MSlop (or any IMAGE editor like Photoshop, Gimp, etc)

Select NEW and agree to the screen size you are using (1024x768, 800x600, 1280x800, etc)

Select PASTE from file menu (or CTRL/V keys). Your document will now appear.

Print the document. The "missing lines" will now show up! If the document is too long for one screen shot, you may have to scroll down, recapture (PRINT SCREEN, etc) and paste one or more images into each other before printing it as a single IMAGE.

HP Deskjet 3050 missing lines when printing

Since the print head(s) are installed into the cartridges themselves, it makes this easier to troubleshoot. First, are all colors affected or just black? You don't say whether or not the cleaning pages and alignment pages are printing properly so I assume they have the same problem. Next, are you using genuine HP cartridges or are these remanufactured/aftermarket units? Non-genuine cartridges are often remanufactured many times over and eventually fail in use. If they are genuine cartridges, and if the problem appears to be only with either the black or the color cartridge, but not both, try another cartridge. New cartridges can be defective. IF that is the case, contacting HP about it should get you credit for a new one. If the problem is related to both cartridges and new ones don't fix the issue, then the problem is in the printer itself and there isn't much you can do about it other than replacement since printers are so inexpensive that repairs are not cost effective.

Printer Epson DX6000 ... all new cartridges .... will not print any text. I can print the head clean test page as well as the head alignment page ... but no text

You said all new cartridges.. But are they Epson Genuine Cartridges???? I had the same problem when I replaced with new, but generic cartridges.
After finally, going thru 2 sets of each, removed them and put in Genuine., and finally, everthing started printing fine. Weird , but true.
I suggested my answer problem below.

Problem for Epson Stylus C84 InkJet Printer
Re: C84 I'm using generic ink, but the red
By mclamemo on Nov 12, 2009 re: C84 I'm using generic ink, but the red doesn't work at all. I've done all the printer cleaning programs and swabbed inside the printer with alcohol, and re-inserted the cartridge multiple times. it still doesn't print at all.

Also now even the black every few lines prints the top half of the line or the bottom half of the line, or its smeared, etc...

I have learned from experience, that Epson does not like generic ink. You must use Epson Genuine Cartridges. Hopefully, you haven't screwed up the printer, like I did. I did try cleaning the heads and doing everything possible. Use 2 cartridges of ech set, for cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. ......But Nothing.
Had to go out and purchase a new printer.;

Wont print

I had this problem recently with my IP90. Both the black and color heads were clogged. After running the "canned" routines several times to clean the heads and deep clean the heads...still didn't help...here's what I did:

1. open the top lid to have the cartridges that are inserted in the print head move to the middle of the printer.
2. remove both cartridges
3. What is left there is the print head holder. Slightly move it to the right and gently lift the print head lock.
4. Grasp the print head and lift it out of the tank.
5. Have several paper towels hand and know that you will have color and bw ink on your fingers
6. Put the print head on the paper towel
7. Pour rubbing alcohol on the blk and color heads and let them sit of about 10-15 minutes.
8. after that dry the heads and re-insert them in the printer
9. I put new cartridges in the printer and ran clean and deep clean a few times.
10. My color and black and white print came right back!

Hope this helps.

Canon IP90 portable . No ink printing.

Have you performed a nozzle test? If one or more of the colors is missing when you do the nozzle test, the printhead itself is likely in need of replacement.

Before considering replacment, perform a clean on the printer. Due to variations between mac and pc, please see your documentation / support files on how to perform the clean on your printer.

After performing the clean, again perform the nozzle check to see if the problem is resolved.

If still not resolved, remove and re-install any cartridges you recently replaced to make certain they are installed correctly.

Page count unreasonable

Re you using genuine HP NEW cartridges? If not, you must make sure that whoever has re manufactured the ones you are using has replaced the chip on the cartridge. This tells the machine how many copies are on the cartridge.
