Moreover, the problem can be both inside the LCD panel (matrix), for example, a malfunction of the LEDs( LED), and outside in their power source - the LED driver. Without the backlight, you can sometimes see a barely noticeable image with a certain successful hit of external lighting on the screen.
Dashboard backlight works together with the tail light. Both the headlight and tail light is controlled by relays. Check the engine bay fusebox. Look at the inside of the fusebox cover and you can see the 'location map'of relays and fuses. Theheadlight and tail light relays sits side-by-side. Change both and check for blown hedlight fuses..
Normally all the backlight inverters have fuse. It would be an SMd type.

Hello, This problem is caused by a bad backlight power supply. Check out this page on our web site: www.ccl-la.com/capacitors.htm If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself.This page gives pictures and parts information. You will need to open your monitor and replace the parts call capacitors that are damaged as directed on the page. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for $40 plus shipping.
