Ryobi BP42 It bogs down, sounding as if the gas mix is bad. I thought I mixed a bad batch. But 4 batches can't be bad, especially because in 5 years, Ive never mixed bad. I replaced the spark plug, stills boggs down.If I hit the throttle, it dies

I have a Ryobi BP42 blower. I ran it on fuel with no oil mix by mistake. It seized. I let it cool and added oil mix, but now it won’t start. Suggestions?

Without more information, the best guess is that the piston is probably seized in the cylinder, this will not fix itself by adding oil now. It likely needs a new piston and/or rings and/or cylinder or shortblock assembly. You can google your model number for sources of repair parts. Depends what you find when you disassemble it, if you can get the piston out you may be lucky to get by with a new set of rings and honing the cylinder.
But it will be a batch of work for a $200 blower. May be worth it if you can do it yourself and the parts arent too much. Certainly a shop couldn't do it for less than the replacement price of the whole blower.
tip

Trimmer will only run for a few secs then dies out

First, use the same oil and mix it the same from batch to batch, once you have made a batch (gallon or what ever, never add gas or oil to make more, use up the batch to the last drop, then make a new gallon). Be sure the air filter is clean, some are weted with oil to catch more dirt and provide a bit of extra suction, clean and spray it with a spray cookingoil or soak it in oil fuel mix. Next: Look for 3 adjustment screws on the carb. should be three total. 1 screw is for idle adjustment. the other 2 should be close to each other, one is low speed fuel/air mix and the other is high fuel/air mix. Adjust the low fuel/air mix screw until it will idle un-added with the throttle then adjust the idle on the throttle to get a good idle speed. Next adjust the High fuel/air mix until it gets the RPM's you want it to have. It should go from idle to high speed with out hesitation or cough. It should also run with power to cut any weeds or limbs with out bogging out.

No power, starving for gas, bogs downb

After all of the obvious (filters, lean/rich screw settings, etc), change the gas to a new batch of fresh premium-grade (properly mixed of course). I almost discarded 2 chainsaws before doing this. I even had one tuned up at a reputable repair shop, but to no avail. They both work great now, for years!

I bought a used Hobart A200 20 quart stand mixer that hesitates or 'gets stuck' when mixing dough or other thick (hard to mix) material. When running without a load, or only a light load it doesn't stick...

First of all, I want to say that it is common for people to overload the A200 mixer when mixing dough. The owner's manual gives an extensive chart for various substances typical of what people may mix. Depending on the consistency of the dough, the maximum batch size varies, but as an example: 9 lbs. max with 40% absorption ratio thin pizza dough, 1st gear only, 5 minutes maximum mix time. I remember this particular batch size/specification because as a technician who works on these mixers frequently, I had a customer attempting to mix 20+ lbs. of that 40% pizza dough for much more than 5 minutes and didn't understand why the mixer would stall and why his mixer was so hot he could nearly cook eggs on it's transmission case. So, a word of caution (9 lbs. at 40% A.R. is approx. 7 lbs. flour, plus the water) about overloading these. If used to mix reasonable batches, they are excellent mixers and will last a lifetime (I regularly service 40-50 year old A200 model mixers that run very well).

If you don't hear any grinding when it's stalled (which would indicated stripped gears, damaged keys, etc. in the transmission) I would say you are overloading it. Many people want to say the motor is weak when the mixer stalls, but unless the motor has been repeatedly and severely overheated to the point of shorting some of the motor's windings, that's not the case. I suggest finding the recommended capacity chart from Hobart and abiding by it and you'll love your new mixer for years.

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it
run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,
but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you
buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will
get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, count the
number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns
they were in/out.

Good Luck, I hope this helped

Hobart A200 mixer is for our church kitchen. when it is in first gear it tense to slow down when heavy and thick mix. Never did this before. I would like to find a manual. I remove the top cover 2 screws...

If your mixer is just slowing or bogging down under a heavy load and not coming to a complete stop, your problem, most likely, is NOT in the transmission.

I would suspect 2 things.

1. Depending on the age of the unit, (older mixers contain a armature with brushes as opposed to a rotor) perhaps the motor armature requires cleaning and brush adjustment/replacement.

2. And probably the true reason for your issue (easily fixed, however), your recipe is and has always been more than the mixer is designed to handle. To check this suspicion, calculate the weight of all your ingredients including the water and check it against the capacity chart found here. http://www.primasupply.com/images/hobarta200.pdf

If you find that the batches your mixing are, in fact, too large simply reduce the batch size and you should be fine.

"But it's been mixing that recipe for years", you say. This is a common arguement, to which I've always replied "you've been lucky all those years... it's just not designed to mix that much product."

Hope this is of some use...all the best.

Engine Seized after running trimmer for 5 min w/ no mix

No there is not. You will need to tear it down and try to get the Piston to turn and oil very well. You might be able to get it to turn it depends on whether the rings are stuck and have welded themselves or not. Sorry for the bad news

MIxer quit working while mixing 3 batches of oatmeal cookies

Hi. Kitchenaid's warranty is 1 year.

Most likely, the plastic transmission housing has failed, causing damage to the working parts inside your mixer. Take it to a local repair place and have them work up a quote to repair it. It will take at least a month to get the parts.
