It should say on the back where the battery compartment is which way negatives and positives should go, but the one with the spring is negative :)
Hope this helped!
A jammed machine is caused by thread being caught in thehook. Remove the upper thread and the bobbin case, turn the hand wheel towardsyou (counterclockwise) by hand and remove any thread in the bobbin case area. Alwaysturn the hand wheel towards you. Turning the hand wheel away from you(clockwise) can cause the machines timing to become unaligned and jam yourmachine. Also, always make sure the presser foot is in the down position beforeyou start sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will jam yourmachine in the bobbin case.
If youhave an older model sewing machine with a shuttle hook, then you can alsofollow these:
1. Disconnect the sewing machine from any power source.Loosen the thumb screw on the left side of the sewing machine body and removethe cover to expose the needle bar. This is the shaft that extends down andthat you attach a needle to for sewing. Open the shuttle race and remove the bobbinand bobbin case.
2. Turn the hand wheel toward you until the needle hasreached the lowest point of the stroke. The hook should be at the top of itsstroke inside the shuttle race. Loosen the set screw for the needle bar on theupper part of the machine, this is located on the needle bar bushing (thecollar that the needle bar slides through when making a stitch). The needle barshould slide easily up and down.
3. Turning the wheel again, adjust the position of the tipof the needle so that the upper part of the needle eye is just below the bottomedge of the hook inside the shuttle race. Once in position, re-tighten the setscrew on the needle bar bushing. Do not allow the needle bar to slip whiledoing this.
4. Replace the bobbin and bobbin case and close the shuttlerace. Thread and plug in your machine. Using a sizable scrap of cloth, sew aseam to check to see if there are any skips in the stitching. If there arestill skips re-adjust the timing again until you can sew without any skipped stitches.
5. When proper timing has been achieved replaces the coveron the needle bar and tighten the thumb screw.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.
1. There is probably a hook type affair on the back of the trimmer that you are supposed to route the extension through to keep the plug from falling out.
2. I would never do what I am going to tell you for safety reasons. It is possible to get a piece of cord, a tie wrap or a hose clamp, adjust it to fit over the trigger and around the handle so that when you pull the trigger, you slip this tight fitting device over it and it keeps it held in tightly enough so you don't have to keep your hand on it. Be advised that this is dangerous in that if you drop the trimmer or hit the electric cord, the trimmer will continue to run uncontrollably until you can get to the power, slip the device off of the trigger or the trimmer cuts the electric cord.
It can be done, but as you can see, it can be very dangerous. These things can amputate fingers.

Try running the battery all the way down by letting the vacume run in a corner or another room and even when it stops leave it on for a hour to drain the battery. Then shut the switch off and try charging the battery. Make sure the charger is putting out enough volts by looking at the rated output of the charger and while it is plugged in check it with a volt meter. If it does not hold a charge and the charger is putting out the right voltage you need to purchase a new battery for the vacume
When you put the beater bar back in have the belt hook in the normal operating position. Hold the whole beater bar housing upside down and turn the hook. It will grab the belt. Once it does, keep on turning. It will get tough to do, but turn it until you can't go anymore. Then put it all back together!
Likely your battery has failed and you need to replace the unit. If you have test meter you can test the charger output to see if it matches the rating on the outside of the case, Rechargeable batteries fail from being dropped, or charged continually especially if they are not run down to zero before recharging. You can try to drain the battery fully then recharge overnight as a test.

Have you tried running the brush motor without a belt on it? Does it not spin without the belt? If so, you may have worn motor brushes (not too expensive parts, but make sure you order both brushes, or make sure they are sold as a set). If your motor is in good condition (you can check the brush motor by hooking it up to a momentary power source NEVER apply constant power to a motor that is not mounted to either the machine or something to keep it from running away) There is sometimes a switch down towards the brush head assembly that could be bad.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=859375 Generic problem for all Vacuums DUST BUSTER 7.2 POWER LASTS FOR Posted by bettedxx on July 31, 2008 DUST BUSTER 7.2 -- POWER LASTS FOR UNDER ONE MINUTE?? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The problem that people have with dustbusters is that when they 1st get them they need to say train the dustbusters to extend the battery life, the process is simple – when you 1st buy the dustbuster then you charge it up the 1st time and then you turn it on and drain the battery down to nothing, and then recharge the dustbusters again, and by doing that you have a larger battery life and it will run longer – but dustbuster and vacuums like that do not tell you and when people buy the item they just turn it on for a minute or two and then the battery does not get a “memory” as per how long it should run. By doing this the dustbuster will last and run longer and will have fewer problems. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
