Hi, I have a Sinotec X1010 10 inch tablet. It refuses to allow connection of other wifi devices on mobile hotspot. The other devices fail to obtain IP address. Is there a setting to be changed?

There is adequate data on the mobile nr. Internet works fine.

Does the WiFi router have SSID? Did it ever connect to other WiFi Access Point before? If not some say to set the Tab on Static IP and configure the router to allow the Tab's MAC address. Hope it helps.

You might have something going on in your settings. I remember the first time I tried to connect to a network. It was a nightmare. I was pulling my hair out! You only have one device to connect. I had three devices and none of them would connect until I went in and changed my settings. I hope this was helpful. Good luck.

SOURCE: How do I get my tablet connected to mobile data?

Most cell phones have a built-in wireless hotspot option. On Android, go to Settings, under Wireless and Networks there should an option for Tethering & portable hotspot, setup the hotspot settings first, then turn on the hotspot, and make sure your 3G/4G/etc data is enabled, then have your tablet connect via wireless to your phone's hotspot and you're good to go. Good luck.

I want to be of use my Ellipsis tablet to download apps over Google play without using Wi-Fi but using my data instead how do I do that

Tablets do not normally have cellular data access. There are two common ways to obtain it. One is to obtain a compatible "aircard" from your cellular carrier, which will allow the tablet to access the call towers on your data allowance. The second way, and the most common, is to have a cell phone that can act as a wifi "hotspot". You set the cell phone to use data rather than wifi, but the tablet links to the cell phone via the wifi hotspot and uses the cell phone as the data link to the carrier. The tablet therefore doesn't know the difference between regular wifi and the cell phone hotspot.

I have had Wi Fi on my Kindle Fire and now it will not connect and keeps asking for an IP address

When you connect to Wifi and if it shows "obtaining IP address" means it is searching for the IP address of the wifi sender...
when you connect to internet it is done through IP address so your phone is tying to locate an IP address with which it can connect
to the internet. Below are the steps to connect your device to Wifi:
Applications-->settings-->turn Wifi ON-->select the wifi that you want to connect from the list displayed-->enter the network password(if it asks for) -->connected Another easy way...just open the chrome app in your phone and try typing in some website like google.com when it tries to connect a pop up will appear "try connecting to WiFi ..mobile data will incur charges.." something of that sort...and you can click connect to wifi...and automatically it will detect the wifi that is around your location. You can check for your IP address through Ip-details.com

How do I stay connected to the Internet when I leave my house?

You have a WiFi device that must send/receive signals from your home wireless system. That generally doesn't extend much out of the home. You need to find a free wifi zone or kupgrade to an iPad with cellular service that connects you like a built-in phone.

Got a eTOUCH tablet and I'm trying to connect the Internet though my personal hotspot on my iPhone4 for some reason it will only save my device on the tablet won't connect?? I'm stuck with what to do...

Hi Jess
If you are trying to connect via bluetooth or via a connected serial cable, then perhaps your eTouch is expecting a device with files. Like a hard drive.
If the iPhone4 (make sure it's up to date & running version IOS7.1.2) has Hotspot turned on with No cables attached & Bluetooth turned off,... it will be broadcasting it's 3G Internet connection over WiFi.
On it's WiFi Antenna. ... It's Hotspot.
I don't use an eTouch, I'm all Apple so I use iPad.... so I don't know the particulars of eTouch technology. But... I would assume Your eTOUCH has the ability to pick up this WFii signal just like it was connecting to any local hotspot service in the neighbourhood. Thereby giving you access to the internet when your eTouch picks up this signal. Like on an iPad, you may have to go to the settings or control panel and choose the Network & Wifi Name and give it a password or key to allow you to join.
For people with limited technical ability I always recommend that they use the benefits of Apple's Ecosystem. Things just connect simply and easily. Thats why we pay a higher price for their technology. If your a nurd and don't mind diving in to the guts of technology then buy a PC with windowz.
Good Luck

4.1 jellybean keeps searching for IP address. Will not connect. All apple products connect fine

This is the result of a bug in Android 4.1, you'll have to manually assign an IP address to your Android device.
