try putting a load of 1 ton, if it trips , the overload control for your inverter is bad

There might be a problem in the battery acid concentration. Take the battery to a battery recharging shop. The specific gravity of the battery has to be 1.22-1.25 for a fully charged battery.(if your battery is lead acid type) Handling lead acid battery(or any other battery) without proper knowledge and supervision is very dangerous.Be cautious.

The first thing I would check is to make sure that the polarity is correct... IE: That you have red connected to positive and black to negative, assuming you're connecting it to a battery that is.
Many inverters will actually self-destruct if the polarity is backwards... But some of the better ones will beep instead.
