I have a Remington RM0612P Branch Wizard. The motor runs, but the chain doesn't move. I opened it up, and found there is a worm gear from the motor, that turns another gear that slides over a shaft connected to the chain sprocket gear. The problem is that there is nothing locking that sprocket gear shaft to the gear that is turned by motor's work gear. So that gear just spins around on the sprocket gear shaft. Is there anyway to fix this?

Only model numbers work. Examine your saw something should match up here:

check the bottom of the chain guard, look for a loose bolt just inside the housing.

Take it back. Remington Power is no longer in production anyway. You will eventually need parts that you will not be able to find.
Is the chain excessively tight? Remove the Sprocket cover, bar and chain. Actuate the switch momentarily while watching the sprocket gear (item 11).

Did it rotate? If no there is likely a failure in the gear train inside the power head (not repairable). If it rotates I suspect the chain was improperly installed or over tightened.

No reply to CR. Second reply is for an oil cap; nothing to do with quexstion asked.

No clutch on this model electric. I suspect a stripped gear.

Remington is no longer in production. Often eBay is the only source for ereplacement parts. I suspect this saw was subjected to some severe operation. The motor for any model Remington cannot be found. Look hard at the cost of a new sprocket kit if available, you might be better served with a different saw. We rarely get questions about McCulloch or Poulan electrics, I suspect a much higher quality saw that will nedd few if any replacement parts. Wen is back in production, they used to be a quality product they might be worthy a critical inspection.

I made some progress. I found a little semi-circle piece of metal in the innards stuck to a little wad of grease. That was the part that held the gear to the shaft by means of a couple of slots. I managed to get at all back together (the ring clips were a pain in the rear to work with), but when I bench tested it, the gear driven by the motor's worm gear was a little too low to make good contact with the worm gear. It looks like there might be another little ring clip missing that keeps the gear in the right place. I put a washer under the the driven gear to raise it a little, and that worked on the bench. When I got it all back together, I still had the poor gear contact problem. I'm pretty sick of it now, but I'll try raising that gear a little more in a few days. If I can't get it to work, I've got a 25% off coupon for HF for 7/4.
