Power and stand by button not working from remote control how much to fix it's a circular button

These are the setup processes for Sky TV.

Follow the steps below

1. Select any channel on the TV.

2. Point your Sky+ remote control away from the TV and press the tv button.

3. Press and hold down the Select and red buttons simultaneously on the Sky+ remote control until the red light at the top of the Sky+ remote control flashes twice.

4. Input the 3 digit number from the Sky+ remote control codes then press the Select button. The red light at the top of the Sky+ remote control should flash twice.

5. Point the Sky+ remote control at the TV and try the volume button.

If this works try the other TV functions.

If these work then the correct code has been selected.

It's important to note that not all TV functions will be supported by the Sky+ remote control e.g. Picture in Picture.

If all functions do not work correctly, then repeat steps 1 - 3 and work through all the relevant 3 digit numbers from the Sky+ remote control codes, until you find the code which supports all or as many of the TV functions as possible.
Please note: In order to operate both your TV and Sky+ with your Sky+ remote control, you will be required to switch modes e.g. to switch on your TV from stand-by, you would need to press "TV" followed by the "Stand-by" button. Then to change channel on your Sky+ you would need to press the "Sky" button followed by the "TV guide" button.

There is a small circular button on the console to the right of the memory card slots below the disc tray. If you push this button the lights around the power light will spin. There is also a small circular button on the top of the controller to the left of the power cord plug in in between the bumper buttons. When pushed when the controller is on it will do the same. Push the consoles button then the controllers. They should synchronise.

your power button lose its contact or misplaced to its proper position. open your remote control and turn back your power button it its correct positioning. having a new one is probably the instant solution to your problem.

map the button that dosnt work to the LCD.
do a firmware upgrade, update the remote.
if you can use the button with no issue from the LCD, its a hardware issue, e-mail tech support.

firmware steps:
1. Log into the Logitech Harmony Remote Software on your computer
2. Click on the Downloads button at the top-right corner of your screen
3. Click on the Firmware button. Follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade the firmware on your Harmony remote
4. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, click on the Update Remote button
5. Test your remote.

keep pressing the channel up button and switch on the tv( plug it to the power). then release the channel button and press power on.

You could pick up an IR tester. Your local electronics hobby store should have them. Also, you sound as if you have some electronics ability, you could do a search on the net and find a electronics hobby site and build yourself a tester. This is what I did. Now, in my 27 years of electronics I have never seen a bad IR section of a remote. the most common problem is broken solder connections. remotes get dropped, tossed, stepped on, etc... Open the unit up and look for bad solder connections. They do not have to have a physical break to be bad! If they are grey instead of shiny or if you see a ring around the lead then the connection is bad. Reflow all connections and clean all contacts. I would think that will get it back to a working conditon.
