Lost codes i have a sentry safe but lost the factory code and my combination?

• Open your Sentry safe by typing the five-digit factory code (found in your owner's manual) on the keypad. It's always a good idea to change your combination while the safe is open, so that you don't inadvertently lock yourself out.
• Delete any existing codes by pressing the "P" key and entering the factory code, followed by "00000." On older safes, press the "PROG" key and entering your factory code twice to delete old codes.
• Press the "PROG" or "P" key again on your Sentry safe's keypad.
• Enter your safe's five-digit factory code.
• Enter a five-digit code of your choosing within 5 seconds. This is your user code. While the factory code cannot be changed, your user code can be changed as often as you like, and that should be your primary code to open the safe. Only you should know your safe's factory code.
• Retype the user code to verify it is working, and then close the safe.

The factory code combination to your electronic lock will remain in the memory of the unit - even if the batteries go dead. Any use programmed codes will be lost if the batteries lose power. The Sentry programmed factory code is always your default code.

Hi. There is no factory fixed code. Thieves would be the first to benefit from such feature! The factory code is uniquely associated to the safe serial number and it is stored in Sentry protected database. When original code is lost the only way to unlock the safe is bay following Sentry's procedure.

Contact Sentry immediately. They will first try an emergency unlock code, and then they will give you instructions in case the safe must be serviced. Here the contact: Call or Email Us

Here general instructions about what to do when combination does not work. Instructions are addressing lost combination.The procedure is the same in all cases when combination does not work (malfunctions, lost combination etc.) . Please contact sentry and follow procedure to get the safe open.

Hi Juli, if you still have the manual, there is a factory code printed on the beginning page and that code can be used if you forgot your code. The factory code can never be deleted. If you dont have your manual anymore then the only other option is to call the company and they might be able to give you the factory code somehow.

First, has the factory combination been changed? Sentry has the code for the factory combination that they can supply you.

If the factory combination has been changed to something else, then Sentry won't have it.

In that case you need to ask Sentry for a 'reset' code combination. There is (at least) one back door to your safe -- a reset code.

The reset code will not tell you what your combination is, it will simply reset the combination to the factory combination.

You can take it from there.

Now, this isn't as hard as it may sound. There is an actual department that handles this at Sentry because you aren't the only one that cannot open his safe.

They'll want some proof of ownership, some $$ for the service, the safe serial number, and probably a notarized form claiming that the safe is yours.

Get 'hold of Sentry on the web and the rest is just process.

BTW -- this is exactly what the locksmith would do.
