TomTom has a variety of GPS products, but basic use and inputting destination information are almost identical across the board. 5. Type in the requested information by tapping the letters or numbers on the screen. As you type, matching town and street names will appear in a list format. Choose the correct option from the list when it is displayed by tapping it. If prompted, enter the house number by tapping the corresponding numbers on the screen. When you are finished, tap "Done".

6. Select "Yes" or "No" when asked if you need to arrive at a particular time. If "Yes" is chosen, follow the instructions to enter in the desired arrival time.

A couple solutions:

1) Make sure the TomTom can "see" the sky well... the GPS satellite waves are rather weak and easily blocked by trees, and anything not a window.

2) Hook up your TomTom to the computer (see details at www.tomtom.com or in the manual)

2b) Do a "sync" and download all updates. One of the updates is a small file that tells the TomTom where the satellites are located this week, and helps it sync up much faster. The longer time between uses, the longer it takes TomTom to find the satellites, and that can takes up to 2-5 minutes sometimes.

That can be frustrating with a car full of people waiting to get going and the driver doesn't want to drive without making sure the TomTom works and is giving valid directions.

There is a small history of last used adresses, but these are not specifically related to the date you used them. Also that list won't contain all addresses you've used.
So if it has been some time since you used the address, i don't think you'll be able to find it.
