I am using the NX-8 Home security system, and I was wondering how I could get the opening/closing chime to sound on a remote speaker? If this is possible without adding an additional keypad, not sure.

Thank you!

SOURCE: We have an NX-148E keypad. Our building has 4 doors alarmed to the panel and the Chime sounds when any of the doors is opened. Is it possible to set the Chime only to sound when 1 of the doors is op

I am sure there is separate programming for each zone. You will need the manual for the system. Probably can get it on line. This chime feature usually comes from the factory with no zones programmed for reporting. Hope this helps

How do I reprogram my compustar remote to my 2003 Pontiac Montana EXT SE?

Hi Melissa
I have this procedure for Pontiac, try it

  • remotes you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the remote. all previous remotes that were programmed will be erased from memory. The other remotes will not be functional until you program them again.
  • 1. Remove the key from the ignition.
  • 2. Remove the "BCM PRGRM" fuse from the fuse panel. Use the legend on the fuse panel to properly locate the "BCM PRGRM" fuse. Fuse panel is accessed by opening the front passenger door.
  • 3. Close all of the doors.
  • 4. Close the liftgate.
  • 5. Insert the key into the ignition, and turn to the ACC position.
  • 6. Turn the key to OFF and then back to ACC within 1 second.
  • 7. Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters into programming mode.
  • 8. Press and hold the remote LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
  • IMPORTANT: After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming.
  • 9. Repeat step 8 now for each additional remotes to be programmed including any existing remotes.
  • 10. Remove key from ignition.
  • 11. Install the "BCM PRGRM" fuse back into the fuse panel and test remote(s).
Good Luck

Reset passlock code

Is your Impala a 2000, 2001, or 2002? This seems to be a common problem in those model years...much like its predecessor the GM VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System). While the VATS had a permanent (albeit unapproved) solution, no suck workaround appears to be available for the Passlock system. Some websites offer a correction "module" that looks to be a hit-or-miss solution. I did find the following procedure on a forum, and it seems to be reliable. Here goes:
If your car has been sitting while you were at work or home or in the store, and you are coming out to leave, follow steps 1-6.

If you just had the SECURITY SYSTEM lock you out of the ignition system, you will have to wait the 10 minutes for it to reset and allow the ignition control module to interact with the system. Once the 10 minutes have passed from the ACTIVE SECURITY STATUS, follow steps 1-6. Do not try to shortcut this as it wont work.

If it is raining, you can close your door, just not all the way. Close it all the way and open the door latch without pushing the door open. This will keep you dry.

+++++STEPS+++++ 1.) OPEN YOUR DRIVERS DOOR AND SIT DOWN. 2.) PLACE KEY IN IGNITION, WAIT FOR CHIME. (3 seconds is what I usually wait) 3.) TURN IGNITION 1 CLICK RIGHT (TO THE ACC POSITION) AND STOP! Do not continue to ON and START yet. WAIT ATLEAST 5 SECONDS 4.) AFTER 5 seconds has passed, TURN KEY TO ON and STOP, DO NOT CONTINUE TO START YET! 5.) WAIT AND WATCH. With your drivers door open, here is what you will see and hear = Your notification will signal DOOR ADJAR, then the BATTERY light, then the SECURITY light, during which you will hear the chime sound as if you just started the car. 6.) AFTER YOU SEE THE SECURITY light switch back to DOOR ADJAR or Battery, and after the CHIME has stopped, you can turn the key to start and voila!

It has worked every time for me and 5 of my friends. This whole process takes about 20-30 seconds, but it sure as hell beats 30 minutes, as GM refuses to compensate my time lost to their vehicle\'s design flaws.

RECAP: 1.) Open driver door, sit down 2.) Insert key in ignition, wait for chime 3.) Once chime starts wait 3 seconds 4.) Turn key to ACC position WAIT atleast 5 seconds 5.) After 5 seconds turn key to the ON postion and wait for the security light to switch back to Battery or DOOR adjar, and the chime to stop (Do not try to START if the chime is still sounding) 6.) Once chime stops and Security light has passed, You may now complete the turn to START and it will start.

Note: This is not a permanent workaround, but it will buy you some time, I can almost guarantee it will work for most if not all people, almost all the time.

Pontiac keyless fob

This worked for me...
Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information. You must then program all of the transmitters.

Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If you program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter could possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.

Perform the following steps:

Sit in the vehicle driver's seat.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Close all of the vehicle's doors.
Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Electronic Diagnosis in Body and Chassis.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the ACC position.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder OFF, then back to ACC within 1 second.
Open and then close any vehicle door. You will hear a chime when the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode. If you do not hear a chime, start again at step 1.

Important
After 7 seconds, you may hear a chime confirming successful synchronization. After approximately 14 seconds, you will hear a chime confirming successful programming.

Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
Repeat step 8 in order to program each additional transmitter.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the MALL PGM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Electrical Diagnosis in Body and Chassis.
Validate that all the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. Refer to Keyless Entry System Operation .

I bought a used 2005 dodge ram and the only keyless remote I have does not work. I have already replaced the battery. Can I re/program this remote myself? If so how?

You MUST HAVE one working remote to add one more to the system. If you do not have one working remote right now then these instructions will not work. You will have to have a Locksmith or dealership use a computer to program the first remote for you.

1. Turn ignition to the RUN position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
Wait for chimes to stop.

2. Using original programmed remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the
remote for between 5 and 10 seconds.

3. While holding UNLOCK button, and before 10 seconds passes, press and release
the
PANIC button. A chime will sound to indicate that the transmitter programming
mode
has been entered.

4. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press a button on all remotes to be programmed
into the system including any previously programmed remotes, a chime will
sound after each remote has been programmed.

5. Turn the ignition OFF to exit the transmitter programming mode.

6. Test Remotes

NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PROGRAM A REMOTE PAD FOR A MAZDA 626 EX 1995 PLEASE I REPLACED THE BATTERIES AND EVER SINCE THEN THE REMOTE DONT WORK

1. Remove key from ignition.
2. Close all doors.
3. Open driver side door and leave open.
4. Insert key in ignition, Turn key to ON (as far as you can go without starting the engine) and OFF, Remove Key.
5. Repeat step 4 two more times, making sure you remove key each time.
6. Close and then open the driver’s door three times.
7. Buzz sound or chime should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle is now in programming mode. If not,
wait 40 seconds and return to step 1.

8. All transmitters need to be programmed at this time, including the old ones. Push any button on a transmitter two
times. A buzz sound to chime should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle has accepted the new
transmitter code. Repeat for next transmitter, up to a total of three remotes (including any old remotes).

9. After all remotes are programmed, wait 15 seconds or until you hear four chimes signaling successful
programming.

Good luck and this should work.

Have you you tried just re-programming all of your remotes? I just added a "new" (from Ebay) remote and when re-programming, had to do them all. Here's how... 1. Using a functional key fob transmitter, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System. 2. Insert ignition key into the ignition switch. 3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position without starting engine. 4. Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum four seconds (maximum ten seconds) 5. While holding UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press and release the PANIC button. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s) 6. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the transmitter at the same time. Then press any one of the buttons. The BCM will sound an abbreviated chime to acknowledge that the programming of the transmitter has been completed and was successful. 7. Repeat step 6 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle (up to 4 total) 8. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, turn the ignition OFF. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer accept additional Vehicle Access Code(s) 9. When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob
