For the Gardena-T-1030-1805 model....
Gardena 1030 1805 Operating Instructions Manual Page 7

11. Battery
11.1 Status indicator
If the battery capacity falls below a certain level, a warning signal sounds every 15 seconds. The programs you have set are not run. The water flow cannot be opened manually. If a valve is open, however, it will be closed.
11.2 Changing the battery
If the battery capacity is too low (the warning signal beeps every 15 seconds), you must change the battery.

To do this, the water timer must be removed from the tap.
Important : Changing the battery deletes the data you have set.
To change the battery :
1. Insert the battery in the battery compartment
2. Set the Run Time control knob
3. Reset the watering data as described in "Setting the watering data".
3 If the Run Time knob is not turned to Reset, 5 seconds after the
battery was inserted the current Run Time shall be accepted. This is confirmed by a double beep.

Note : The time the battery was changed is taken to be the starting time.

To ensure that the water timer works properly we recommend that you insert a new battery at the beginning of every gardening season, or at the latest after a year.
Important ! Please dispose of used batteries properly at the appropriate communal waste disposal site. Only dispose of batteries when flat.

SOURCE: gardena c 1060 water timer problem

Hi Cornwell,

I have timers similar to yours. Happens more often than I like to think about. Here's what I do:

  • Make sure there are new batteries, Check the contacts in the battery compartment for corrosion.
  • Check the manual on/off for unit functionality
  • If the device is new (warranty) and it still does not work, exchange it. It's not your problem.
  • If it's out of warranty and does not work, you have nothing to lose by opening it up. Some of mine just needed the gear box to be nudged.

Good luck and happy watering

Mike

I cannot find parts or manuals on Gardena products.

Gardena.com has a product page and a contact page
They have technical drawings for some products so parts must exist somewhere.
Gardena product page
Contact Gardena

If you are looking for operation manual at Gardena, they only have sales brochures and technical drawings.

SOURCE: How do I programme my

The following link has some Gardena manuals, and resources:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-program-Gardena-C1060.html

Due to space constraints, we cannot write out the manual. Plus the manual has illustrations that are key to understanding your device.
Read the manual that applies to your specific product.
Then add a comment saying what part of manual is confusing and what you have done so far to get the water timer working.

If your manual does not show, add a comment with in-focus photo of timer that you posted on Flickr for possible identification and instructions.

If your water timer is not working, say what you have done so far, and maybe more information can be added. Broken water timers have low probability of functioning again. Gardena shows a parts link, but as of right now, I do not know who sells parts, and am actively seeking that information.

Folks can add a comment about parts and repairs they have verified and keep this thread current.

When is ON the timer admit a water jet and after that the valve is closing even if the battery is full, the timer ON and the supply of water open. Thanks

Problem is not clear and timer not identified.

Open following link for Gardena resources including contact information for Gardena.

If timer is cracked, then electric parts can get wet and stop working.
If timer valve is not closing, maybe the timer is broken or something is stuck in the valve.

Which gardena water timer will work the best?

Generally speaking, fixya sees more complaints about Gardena water timers than other brands. Maybe more Gardena timers are sold, or maybe the timers have problems.
There are no sources for water timer parts for any brand, and nobody reports being able to fix a water timer once it goes bad.
Any plastic outdoor device that works with a battery-operated clock motor cannot last more than a year or so, and will crack if exposed to freezing water.
I suggest the cheapest timer.

Gardena timer is not identified.
Most water timers use 9Volt battery, but Gardena timers have up to three different model numbers for each timer.
