SOURCE: Have a hobart 140 mig welder, the wire feed otor

I have a 120 and when that happened to it the bridge rectifier was bad on it. Not sure if your 140 has that or not but just something to look into. It only cost me about 8 or 10 bucks to fix mine.

L bought a hobart 140 two days ago, welded about 10 feet of wire with it .now it only feed wire on three out of the five settings

Check the selector switch with an ohm meter. Unplug the unit, ground to chassis and probe the contacts while turning the switch on and off.

Hobart 140 voltage drop when welding in all setting using 30 wire and uni mix gas will start out welding good then will not ?????

Check your input line voltage. 115 volt Mig welders / plasma cutters need stable voltage / current. Test to see if the voltage drops to below 100 volts when welding. If so, find a more stable power supply.

I have a 135 hobart and the wire feed only works for a short time then it stops

Lots of MIG/MAG units have a Stich and spot facility, these are indicated by Stitch -------- and spot by .......with a timer control numbered 1-10sec make sure that both are switch to off, anti clockwise, These switches are a bit fragile so be a little carefull with them.
Lets know how you get on,,
