My Merlin powerlift 2500 won't open the door but the chain runs in circles. I did pull the rope down and I pushed it back in but made no difference.

Hi Brian, I tried that but didn't work. I posted some photos, see if you can take a closer look. One thing that is related, before this issue happened the door was able to be opened but only tilted a little, like 10 degrees. Then I pulled down the rope and pulled it back then the door never moves.

Garage door came down on my bumper and now it won,t do anything.

Many garage doors have a "reset" button somewhere on the motor. You should be able to pull a rope and unhook the garage door from the chain and track, then, manually push the door back up to it's ceiling place.
Remove the car from the garage, and climb up and try to find the reset button.
God bless your efforts.

Overhead door opener 555 with manual release won't lockup chain

Sometimes if the clip is not reset then it wont catch the chain mechanism again to open or close the door. If you havent already reset the pull cord clip then that would be my guess. Try closing the garage door reset the clip with the rope attached, push it up til it clicks. and hit the garage door opener button. the rope and clip should move along the track until it hits the arm bracket where the garage door attaches to the chain mechanism.

If that does not do the trick then the clip has some screws on either side of the plastic casing and may need to be loosened and readjusted to match up with the garage door arm bracket and then locked back into place. That should do the trick if all esle fails, you may have to call the door company to come and correct the problem. Hope it works out!

Chain broke, I reconnected the chain, udjusted it so it was tight and now the short side is loose hanging low and the longer side from gear to gear is extremely tight, under tension. HOW DO I REMOVE THE...

Release the door from the opener by pulling down on the rope. It will be very hard to pull. This should release the tension on the chain but I think you need professional help with this opener. It sounds like it is badly out of adjustment. The chain coming off is an indication of a worn bearing that will have to be replaced.

I Have a Liftmaster Professional Formula 1 garage door opener. When we press button on wall or garage door opener, we hear the motor going but the garage door doesn't do anything. Do I need a new opener?

Hi,
There is a rope or string hanging down that releases the dog that hooks the door to the chain...if someone pulled that the door will not open. You need to pull down and back on the srting to relaese the dog and then push the door up to catch the chain...then the door will work again...

I pulled the emergency rope on my door opener. How to fix the chain back on the pully?

Pull straight down on the rope and release. Then bring the two halves of the trolley together either by moving the door by hand or running the motor.

The motor on my Genie Chain Glide garage door operator runs but the chain does not run or move.

If the chain does not move but the motor runs then you have stripped the internal gears. I would replace here. These chain glide units are not very strong. There might be a chance the chain is telescoping down the rail but the trolley is not hooked up. Pull the red cord back toward the motor to engage. Thanks BB
