Here's and excerpt from the Netgear WNR2000 user manual explaining that this is normal behavior for Netgear routers that support WPS..:
Even if your router is not a WNR2000, it is likely that the configuration interface pretty much the same so you might be helped by looking at Chapter 2 page 17 in the WNR2000 manual here..:
Or else, go to Netgear support (NETGEAR Support Welcome), select Wi-Fi routers and download/display the user manual pdf and search it for "disable router's pin" or "keep existing wireless settings" and verify/change the setting so the router doesn't make changes when you use the WPS button.

If the wifi light is off its a sign that there's something wrong with it, so the first thing you can do here is to reset the router, To reset it press and hold the reset button of the router for 30 seconds and then power off the router for 10 seconds....

http://www-security-camera.com/d-link-dcs-930l-mydlink-enabled-wireless-n-network-camera/
This is a "plug and play "device ...and all you have to do is to open it and let it find the network ..and after that will be visible in your network places folder...and a device ..
if you want a more advanced control you should install the software that came with it ...
It may be necessary to change the security and remove the password while connecting ...or ..if you have a mac access set to the router ..add the camera's mac to it ...
It is supposed to find the network and connect to it auto ..once you enable the wireless connection on it ..
Also if you preset the IP range in the router ..you may need to enlarge it so that the camera 's IP to be in that range ..but Im not that sure about that ..cause it is a wireless device and it may have no issue of that kind..Just take a good look at it ..cause it probably has a button you need to enable for instant auto access ...

Doesn't look like your router/modem supports WPS, here is the manual. http://www.2wire.com/pages/pdfs/2701HG_user_guide.pdf
I would check your Range extender model because some allow for a wired configuration
Here is a How To, to configure the extender via cable and utility

The 327w does not have a WPS button you need to configure the printer manualy

Good question, I have the same router & Brother HL-2280DW and ran the printer setup CD from Windows XP SP3 via temporary USB connection & it seemed to work. The WAN report on the printer itself says OK, however the computer can't seem to find the printer "No devices could be found on the network." I let setup make changes to Windows Firewall, not sure about Microsoft Security Essentials however. This seems like a nice printer/copier at a nice price but this setup is frustrating! PS If it's a security issue I'd like to say thanks to all the hackers for ruining technology for everyone, your junk is responsible for slowing down & complicating computers & technology in the world. Someone please do everyone a favor & start making antibodies that *kill* viruses & spyware & spam and clean & speed things up for a change! All these villians - Where are the cyber super heroes????
