SOURCE: PFAFF 1222E Sewing Machine (~1977). Mechanically Locked-up

You might be in "Stopmatic" mode. Check if your pressure lifter bar is in the upper most position, if it is the machine is disengage and you are set to wind your bobbin. Lower it to the 3 o-clock position this will engage the machine and the needle will operate.

SOURCE: presser foot lifter is stuck can i fix it

If you can't lift the presser foot up at all undo the presser bar screw on top of the presser bar, if you have a dial turn it to 0, you should now be able to move the lever, if it is still tight put some WD40 on the presser bar and leave it for a couple of hours.

SOURCE: I have a Pfaff 1222E sewing machine which needs a new motor

Good for you, to repair a great machine instead of buying some more modern, disposable machine!
I found a generic motor that will fit your machine at http://www.pfaffmachines.co.uk/partsDB/index.php?function=detail&recordID=185. Free delivery within the UK, but that doesn't help much, does it? There's several places in the U.S., like http://www.a1sewingmachine.com/parts.html http://www.sew4less.com/QuickSearch.php http://sewingpartsonline.com/
You'll probably need to look for a generic motor for your Pfaff, but they should be out there.
I did check eBay; they do have generic sewing machine motors, but unless you're very experienced with eBay, I'd be very careful there.
Check with your local sewing machine dealer/repair place (even if they don't carry Pfaffs). Maybe they can help.
Good luck--I wish I could be more helpful, but let me know if anything I've sent helps, ok?

Error message on Pfaff 7570 is "bring presser foot lifter to sewing position?" Is this a fatal error or is this a procedure that has to be done before the machine will operate?

Assuming that the presser foot lifter is working, this shouldn't be a fatal error. The presser foot has to be down to sew. The lifter needs to be in the down position to put the foot down.

The manual for the Pfaff Creative 7570 is available on the product page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Machines/creative-7570 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Creative_7570-manual-EN.pdf?ext=.pdf . See page 32 (page 36 of the PDF) of the manual to see a picture of the presser foot lifter.

I hope this helps.

Can't get my presser foot to fall down when I let go of the lifter on my Pfaff 6085 sewing machine

Sounds as if the spring for the presser bar is broken OR the presser bar is dirty and needs cleaned and oiled.

How do I change a pfaff 1222 presser bar lifter? I ordered a replacement part, but now I don't know how to remove it.

If you are lucky, your part will come with instructions. Each machine is a bit different but basically you have to get into the needle bar/presser foot bar area. If you are Lucky you can get to the lever assembly without having to take out a bunch of bars. But I've only ever seen that once on an industrial machine. So you take out the presser foot bar... to get to the lever. Use caution. You want to be sure you know where and how the parts fit in there. Take your time... take pics or make notes.

Good luck

I can't get a bobbin to wind on a pfaff 1222E It appears that a gasket is suppose to be pushed up against a gear with small teeth, but it does not move. Can it be that the gasket needs to be replaced?

You have to raise the presser bar lifter to the "A" position (highest position) to disengage the machine and set the machine to "bobbin winding" mode.

My bobbin mechanism has stopped turning on both a 332 and 1222E - thereby locking up the machine - is there an fix that I can do myself?

Is your presser bar lever all the way up to the 2 o'clock position? If so you are in "StopMatic" mode which is for bobbin winding. Place the presser bar at the 3 o'clock position to engage the machine for operation.

PfaFF model 1222E has seized

Your "StopOmatict" must be engaged. Facing your machine (front) your presser bar lifter is at the back side of the machine. To disengage set it to the 3 oclock position or all the way down to 5 oclock. Note: don't place your finger near the needle when you do this because it will automatically pick up the bobbin thread when it's all the way up.
