This error code has something to do with a defrost sensor and happened after an extended power outage. I unplugged the refrig and it reset itself!

I am getting error code dH.. What is this?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

DH means defrost heater and refrigerator computer is not sensing the defrost cycle. It is due to a bad defrost sensor located on the evaporator behind the plastic cover in the back of the freezer compartment. You need to replace that.

Problems for Refrig. Kenmore Elite

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

Er dh code error on Kenmore elite trio

I CHANGED THE FILTER AND SET THE SETTINGS AND IT BEGAN TO WORK A FEW HOURS LATER THE DISPLAY WAS SHOWING ER NOW THE REFRIG. IS NOT COLD AND THE FREEZER IS NOT WORKING AND THE ICEMAKER IS NOT WORKING ALL IN...

If this is the Kenmore french door model with bottom freezer and ice and water in the door made by LG it could be that the mother board has failed.  Call for service and hope that warranty is still in effect.

I have a Kenmore model 795 77563600 refrig side

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.
Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.

http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wkbwtkdqbqkgrkkxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ktfgsrbbdxktrrwffdr/1/1303472/5961857/image18067img-or.jpg

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.

I have error code ER dH. Unplug and then replug

Error Code - erdh

Kenmore and LG 795 Series. Model 795.77556600 but most models use the same repair. Controller Part # 6615JB2005H

To Verify correct part. Check part number for your model number at
www.searspartsdirect.com

Don't be intimidated by this repair... The 'erdh' error code indicates - error defrost heater. Replacing the controller is EASY. The difficult part is removing everything in the freezer section to access the evaporator coil but hang in there and stay with it. You will not hurt anything if you use common sense.

The new part (defrost controller) is relatively inexpensive ranging $10 - $14. Here in the SouthWest I used Appliance Parts Depot for a $10 part cost. Don't forget to have 3-4 small wire ties to secure the defrost heater, defrost sensor and wires.

It would help to write down a few notes of some of the particulars during disassembly.

I had the same ERDH error code, and my refrigerator began to warm up. I replaced the defrost thermostat assembly part # 6615JB2005H which is located inside the freezer, on the right side behind the white plastic panel.

(See Diagram Image) I accessed it by removing the freezer door, all components inside the freezer, including the slide rails / tracks mounted on the sides of the freezer. Be careful when removing the rear white panel because an evaporator fan is mounted on the back of it and plugs into the back left side of the freezer compartment. You just saved yourself about $375 or more.

Stay With It & Good Luck!
