From what you've described, it sounds as if you may have a blockage inside your machine's internal hose or changeover valve. This is housed within the ball assembly, so it may not be immediately noticeable. Please follow the steps shown in the images below:

Hubby looked into what makes a Dyson work. Came to the conclusion that all their Hype ...is just hype - all available Online.
