Great question but you do not give ANY detail at all. Is your laptop a PC or Mac? What O/S is it running and what version? What is it you are trying to connect? How are you connecting it -USB/RS232/Mouse Port/Printer port/VGA/HDMI there are so many possible interfaces needing drivers I could go on and on but please if you want help gie as much detail as possible or visit a mind reader.

Does anyone know if I need the 'Brains' of the ION IED01 electronic drum kit, or can I plug the USB directly into my laptop? Somehow, I've lost that module and only have the kit!

The ION IED01 electronic drum kit requires the "brains" module to function properly. The module is responsible for converting the signals from the drum pads and cymbals into MIDI data that can be interpreted by a computer or other device. Without the module, the pads and cymbals will not produce any sound or trigger any MIDI data. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bypass the module and connect the USB cable directly to your laptop. You will need to obtain a replacement module in order to use the drum kit.

How to recover deleted data

you can obtain undelet software to do this but do not use the machine too much before attempting the procedure, too much use might lead to the areas where data was stored becoming written over. If the data was very important I would contact a data recovery specialist, one with a proven track record.

Hello guys, i have a problem with my midi keyboard. My PC doesn't recognize the USB connection and i can't find any solution.

Well first start by verifying USB port works by plugging in a hard drive or something thus proving you have a good port and USB Cable. At which point hook the keyboard up ( and make sure to properly install drivers provided on cd with purchase) being a pc this may take several attempts to install. What software are you trying to control? Reason? Logic? Fruityloops?

I brought a akai mpk mini and when i plug it into my laptop, the sony vaio ns-series VGN-NS30E says i need driver software to use it. the keyboard works on my computer though (dell volstrom 220 mini...

Your machines are different and likely have different interface chipsets. Some newer machines have more built in plug-n-play than others. There is so much incompatibility that it is a wonder that any of the stuff works together. You need to install the needed driver... NOTE: there is a lot of incompatibility between OS versions... so if for instance you are using XP on one machine and Vista or Windows 7 on the other there are a LOT of incompatibilities. ALWAYS check the requirements for the computer with the specs of the device to be connected. MOST of the problems are due to OS variations. Check for driver updates on the Sony site

Lexicon alpha does not install with XP SP1a, error = "Cannot start device code (10)" Drivers from disk are installed, device is listed in device manager with a yellow exclamation point. Do i need...

You should be at SP2, but that MAY NOT be the problem. One thing to check is if you are supposed to have the device connected when you install the software... in SOME cases doing it with or without connection will affect the outcome. Also make sure ALL virus/spyware/popup blockers are disabled during install.

Before using this device, make sure that going to the control panel and looking at the "Sounds and Devices" shows that the Lexicon is the inout and output device for all the tabs within that window.

My oxygen 49 3rd generation (m-audio) midi keyboard just stopped working for me. Ive tried changing the usb lead, and I've tried it on a different computer, and it still doesn't work. I have a macbook pro,...

If the keyboard is lighting up, there is a 90% chance the problem is in the software in your MAC.

Hint: Software "breaks" easier than the hardware !!!

Re-install your software as a first step.
