Are the stripes like pixely (sharp stripes) or blurry (from background)?

You might have damaged the edge of the screen where the connections are and broke connections. These types of problems are impossible to fix. You need replacement panel witch can cost a lot. Cheaper is to buy new model. You can re-sell the screen motherboard, PSU as those are sometimes valued replacement parts for screens that have working panel but broken circuits.

Another tip for you is to find a exact same screen with broken circuits and replace those. I have found myself broken screens just for cents.

Testimonial: "Thank you so much for your answer. Was very helpful. What you tell is right. I just asked the rate of replacing it and the cost of it was 24000 INR. I live in India. If you come across any broken circuits for replacements like in your tip, do let me know Tarmo. And my screen looks like the same in this URL. http://static.squarespace.com/static/5053ab9fc4aa9308485dacd1/t/50937cade4b05d6afda28d42/1351843000173/cracked_broken_lcd_monitor_screen.jpg"

The Clutch disc and Release Bearing for the TD4-Freelander, were replaced recently. The Pressure Plate was still in a good condition.Gears difficult to engage. Please advise.Tks.John.

Most likely still has air in hydraulic clutch slave system. Many transmisions will have dificulty shifting if clutch doesn't full disengage. If air is in system it won't allow full disengage thus difficulty in shifting even possible grinding gears

Advent 4211 screen to base connection problem

Video Cable

The Video Cable connects to the motherboard.

It then runs along under the Left Hinge, and connects to the back of LCD screen.

{LED backlighting. Does not use a screen Inverter]

Due to just normal opening, and closing of the laptop; the Video Cable may be pinched.

This can cause the connection of the Video Cable TO motherboard, to be loose; and/or LCD screen.

Solution is to partially disassemble the laptop, and PHYSICALLY make sure the connection at motherboard is tight.
Visual inspection will NOT do.

Connection at back of LCD screen needs to be Physically checked also. (Try to plug in tighter)

Also visually inspect the sheath of the Video Cable, for apparent signs of damage.
Any signs of damage to the sheath, may mean damage to the tiny wires inside the Video Cable.
(Stretched/Broken)

Also due to the age of the laptop, suspect cracking of the insulation, of the wires inside the Video Cable.
If you have a multimeter, set it to OHM's (1K), and check continuity of every wire in the Video Cable.
Or take it to a small computer store, and have the resident tech check it.

The Advent 4211 is just a rebadged MSI Wind U100, according to my findings,

Disassembly guide,

That's the problem, the Video Cable,

http://microdream.co.uk/advent-4211-c-lcd-screen-cable-k19-3030019-h58.html

[ In the photo, the large connector at bottom plugs into the LCD screen.
The smaller connector at the upper right plugs into the motherboard.
The separate black wire you see with the eyelet on it, is a Ground wire ]

Is my pool pump filtering correctly?

The cloudiness or turbidity of your water indicates a leaking or damaged filter membrane/element. The green color is due to the growth of algae. Are you using the right algaecide? Is the dose right? You have to consult a water treatment specialist to know these.

Lumix DMC-FY2 recently purchased. Screen has developed 'yellow/golden' shade in top left hand corner and faint transpartant spots have now started to appear as well. These marks do not effect...

Usually such screen flickering occurs when you had applied some pressure on the LCD ( can be due to high shocks on the camera such as dropping it from a height, hitting on the LCD ...etc ) and will eventually damage the screen. But it wont affect the pictures you are taking since the image capture is by the inbuilt image sensor. You can claim for the warranty if it's a manufacturing defect and they will service it free of cost.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated.

I just replaced my lcd on my iphone 3G. It was working fine until I dropped it. Now the screen is black. I can hear it charge and get incoming e-mails but I can't see anything. Could it be my lcd again?

Hi,from the problem you are experiencing it's obvious that the problem is from the lcd screen, the shock it sustained when it dropped is responsible for the damage on the lcd screen again.
The solution is to replace the lcd screen but you have to be more careful with the phone, the iphone is a very fragile phone which should be handled with extra care,if the screen is replaced and you mistakenly drop it again,i'm sorry, you will have no choice but to keep replacing the screen, which is not good enough for you economically and also for the efficiency of the pone.

Thanks and take care

I have a samsung hd lcd tv. When it's turned on it looks cracked.

There are no settings that could produce that result.

On most LCD TVs there is a LCD controller board that controls the vertical/horizontal display output. It sounds like your LCD controller has failed.

When you say 'appears to be cracked'...you mean it is actually physically cracked? That is a different issue altogether. I would say 99.9% of screen fractures are due to rough handling or a stray impact with a Wii controller, but rarely screens can fracture due to manufacturing defect or a sudden change in temperature or altitude.

I have a 30GB ipod video that was recently repaired due to a damaged LCD. before it was damaged, it has a normal white appearance on the screen like you see on well functioning ipods. now it has a black...

Go to Settings and then to brightness.
Adjust the brightness setting.
It actually sounds like you have a bad LCD.
Possibly return to whoever fixed it and get another LCD

Faint white spots on macbook pro lcd screen

If the spots remain in the same place I'm sorry to say no. Be careful what you clean the screen with. I'm a fan of a warm wet damp only rag. Using alcohol or other cleaners may damage the surface. There are also cleaners available at local stores. You don't need anti-static on an LCD display. The spots can be from pressure on the display applied at some point even if that pressure happens when closing or transpoting your laptop. There is no way to fix it.
