Problem has gotten worse over time. Sometimes it would happen for a couple minutes and go back to normal. It has now been like this for several days. I tried leaving it unplugged and also resetting it to factory settings.

This sounds classic to a thermo problem where a part(s) are becoming thermo sensitive with aga and use. When the set is cold and then warmed up, the defective part(s) is changing characteristics.
Some components became thermo sensitive that are driving the display. Or an embeded component in the display itself became thermo sensitive. It is very possible that the fault is on the board that does the X - Y addressing or on the backplane electronics of the display screen itself.
Using the set with defective components is a bad idea. If the part(s) fail completely and go shorted or opened, other more costly damage can be done.
The service rep for the manufacture of your set is equiped and trained to be able to troubleshoot and service your set.
You will have to take the set in to have it serviced.

There may be some components failing in the power supply or one of the circuit boards that are causing too high a current pull.
I realize that this answer is very vague. Without doing proper diagnostics, it is impossible to guess at something like this.
Out of warranty repairs on these sets can be very expensive. I would suggest that if the set is going to be expensive to service, it would be best to replace it with a known brand name that offers an extended warranty with local service. You will pay more, but you will have dependability and better quality.

Hello, This seems more like an interface problem then a board issue. Which interface are you using Component Video, HDMI or , RF(F Connector)? If you are using the RF (F Connector) there might be a problem in the tuner including the RF and IF sections on the circuit board. If you are using HDMI there might be a problem in the HDMI Integrated Circuit If you are using componente video the there might be a problem in the video circuits connected to the RCA jacks of the Component video input. If I were you I would have the take the TV back to the shop and have these items checked out, because board swapping is not the proper thing to do. I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com
