this is a RADIAL ENGINE the type used on old planes with a single prop as for the year sorry would need a lot of investigating , the Japanese developed this TYPE of engine during WW2, heres a link with a bit more info on this type of engine

all engine are different.
if in usa, open hood, look up, (see EPA sticker and engine type)
bingo, or post the VIN.
if you had know the engine, type.
you could have google searched it using google image
and see every part of engine, a 1000 times over.

This Expedition has the 5.4L V8 engine.

if the engine is a 2E type,then it will have a carb directly under the aircleaner on top of the engine.there a 2 types of carb basically on this model,one is conventional type venturi,the other has a bell shaped body lying sideways.If the model is an FE or AG type engine,then it is fuel injected,no carburettor,the aircleaner will be off to one side of engine,connected by a long air duct.check engine/model ID plate usually on the rear firewall for engine code.eg:1E,2E,3AFE,4AGE etc

I use Mobil Super FE Special 5-30 but there are many more oils that meet the spec.

If you have the origianal spanish paperwork open the green one which has the itv stamp on the back left hand page second from bottom this is the engine type. You are looking for tipo de motor. If not The engine type is G 18 BS this number will be enough to get spares. I hope this helps

I saw a few sites and forums that state that this engine, 1.6 is a interference type engine.
