You have to take it apart, get the spring back in, then wind the cord around around it. Not an easy task if you've never done it. A small engine repair or lawn mower repair shop will fix it pretty cheap and fast.

Husqvarna 128LD weed eater wont start - replaced spark plug - carb - ????

If you can confirm that you have spark then you basically have a fuel delivery problem - carburetor.

If you installed a new carb you have to set it up , with the idle adjustment , and the low and high speed mixture screws. You just do not insert the carb and expect it to work.

The pull cord to crank up the weed eater is not pulling out.

You can try replacing the cord with new, failing that if the cord is sticking on starting, and releasing the cord, you will need a new starter clutch, you should check with your servicing agent first before commencing work,as sometimes these are not worth repairing, rgds

Ouch. It sounds like the cord rewind spring has gotten out of position. These things can be holy terrors to get back in the cavity in which they rest.

Check on a new rewind spring assembly. This might be more cost effective than trying to get a service person to put the spring back into place.

Replacing pull cord on weedeater

there is another t20 screw in the neck of the drum. once removed you will expose the drive clutch. soak it good with WD40 then unscrew it from the shaft. if you have all the housing screws out, you should be able to simply remove the housing to expose the pull cord assembly, screwed to housing.
