How do you turn off SAP? When I clicked on MTS, STEREO-ON AIR SAP - ON AIR & MONO appeared. When I hit ENTER it dropped to SAP -ON AIR. The arrows around ENTER don't move it anywhere and if I hit ENTER again it moves down to MONO. Can anyone help me please?

Are you using a cable box sush as a Comcast cable box? If so then the volume control within the cable box is most likely not high enough for the TV to detect a stereo pilot signal. The Comcast remote (if thats what you have) still is programmed to operate the volume within thier box, the volume display will be at the top of the picture and it will be in white. Turn it up until the word "stereo" appears. then leave it at that setting and use your TV's volume control only.

This tv is kind of got a mind of its own the only time you can adjust it on mine is on cable that comes in stereo actually it usually switches by itsself after it reads the broadcasted sound. Hope this helps.

Commercials are broadcast in lower quality than the programs, and it is normal for the signal to change when going to commercials. If you are watching ATSC you will notice also the video changes from HD (widescreen) to SD (normal) as well.
