Has stopped working. light gone off at same time. plug fuse has not broke. any ideas ?

There is a fuse inside the microwave also.It is a ceramic fuse, usually 15A.It has to be replaced with another ceramic fuse of the same rating.Bear in mind, the fuse blew for a reason,so if it is the interior fuse replace it after a search for a fault.

How do you change the fuse?

I guess you checked for power at the outlet. First unplug unit. Second hang plug where you can see that you've unplugged unit, and that you can see that it's still unplugged when you come back from whatever interruptions that will occur.
Take off the long vent above the door. That will expose the screw holding the control panel on. Remove that screw and lift the control panel straight up to expose the innards. The fuse will be a light gray or white ceramic piece with silver on the ends. Once it's out check the silver end for the amperage rating, ie 20A or 18A.
Replace with a ceramic fuse with the EXACT SAME VALUE. Still see the plug? Reverse the order to reassemble. Test run. If the fuse blows again the unit will have to be opened up for component/connection checks. The fuse will probably cost $3.00-$5.00, just so you're not suprised.

Hope this helped, and good luck.

I had a fire in the microwave and now it doesn't turn on. Is there a reset button or do I have to go buy a new one? [email protected]

It sounds like an internal fuse has blown. Unplug unit and carefully open the top cover to provide access to the A.C. power cord entry point. Hopefully the fuse is located in that area and is the older style 1/2" long glass or ceramic body with metal endcap on each end. ONLY REPLACE WITH A FUSE THAT HAS IDENTICAL ELECTRICAL RATINGS! After replacing the fuse and top cover reconnect the unit to the A.C. outlet and check to see if it is still dead. Still dead = repair shop time.

NOTE: Use a "fused" A.C. outlet strip (usually 6 outlets with circuit breaker) for your "after fuse replaced" testing. This gives you additional protection against accidentally tripping a breaker in your homes electrical panel.

Whirlpool microwave lost all power, circuit breaker is live

Sounds like your fuse has blown. Remove the unit if it is an undercounter unit. Unplug. Remove the case by taking all screws out. You should see the fuse in a holder on the top or on the side where the electronic boards and display are. Check the value and replace with a ceramic fuse OF THE SAME VALUE. The fuses are special fuses and are not glass fuses for a reason. They are ceramic (you can't see through them). You can get the fuses at www.mcmelectronics.com . Let me know if you need more help.

The microwave is not heating up

Inside the machine is a fuse that is expressly for the magnetron tube. You may or may not have special screws that hold the cover on, but usually they are the tamper - proof kind, you Can buy the tool that removes them. The fuse will be a small (1/4"x1 1/4") AGC type and will be white ceramic with a metal cap at each end, this too, you can buy. After replacing the fuse, make sure that you put the cover back on before testing the ' nuke '. The special tool ( if you have to buy one) and the fuse will cost far less to purchase than a new unit. If the unit still doesn't heat, then the problem will most definitely be in the mag circuit. To replace the entire unit would be my best advice, to repair it costs more than just money, you also have to hassle with the repair people and lose out on time not having your 'nuke'

Light comes on and turntable spins. It sounds like it is working but no heat.

Not getting on. no lights

not much to go on here.. too brief But io will hazard a guess that the intenal fuse has blown.

Undoe the outer case and on the top of the unit there should be a ceramic fuse You will see that it has burnt. It can be replaced but you might find it blows again ( they are not cheap) You need to find why it blew. The magnatron may also be damaged and at that rate its cheaper to buy a new one than repair.
Check the fuse first

Daewoo Microwave KOG 867 T9-DEAD??

There could be a main fuse inside the unit. Mine has one that is ceramic, sort of like the old glass car fuses but ceramic instead of glass. Digi-Key has all kinds of fuses, www.digikey.com.

Ceramic fuses of 15A or 20A rating are available at home improvement stores like Lowe's, places like Wal-Mart and local appliance stores.

Ceramic fuses are preferred because they are considered flameproof.
