Alternating red and white LED colors indicates that it is not detecting an active bluetooth connection. Use the PS3 bluetooth settings to find and reconnect the signal.
To Pair the Sennheiser VMX 100 headset with your cell phone: At
the same time as you open the mic, you also need to push down on the
bottom/volume-down button on the side of the earpiece and hold this down
(at the same time as opening the mic) until the light flashes red and
blue alternating. (Just to clarify, it is the button that has an arrow
pointing toward the Sennheiser logo). If asked for a code, enter "0000"
(four zeros). This video shows the bluetooth earpiece connecting to
an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 (not jailbroken). This is the standard way
to pair these devices (and it should work for Android phones as well), but as a disclaimer: If anything should happen to your phone or your Bluetooth earpiece, it is not my fault.
Yes it is perfectly safe. The easiest way to identify whether a bluetooth set is malfunctioning or unsafe is - HEAT. Normally batteries which are about to die or devices malfunctioning will heat up quickly when you charge it.
So unless you dont feel abnormal heat.. they are perfectly safe. Try to remove the BT earpiece when not needed. Your ear canal needs natural air flow. Blocking it with a prolonged use of a BT device could heat up the ear canal. That's where the problem starts! :-)
If the earpiece it new make sure you charge it fully (usually about 2 hours). Then make sure the LED on the earpiece is lit (usually done by holding down the lighted button on the earpiece for about 5 seconds, or until it stays lit). Also, if your phone is a newer model it may have multiple places to enable bluetooth and pair devices. For example my HTC Ozone has a bluetooth manager and a COM manager. I can only use the COM manager to pair devices. If all else fails check your phone manual or Samsung's website for a PDF version if you lost it like I did. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

The headset will automatically pair with the last device that it was
paired with. You may want to remove that just in case. I am sending the
users guide along with this. Also always start with the blue tooth
turned off, the pass key is 0000 (four zeros).
When you very first get the device you need to charge it exactly AND I MEAN EXACTLY (NOT MORE & NO LESS THAN) 14 HOURS! This is because it is from china and it is a way of programming the earbud bluetooth device. good news ... this may just work for ALL of the EMERSON BLUETOOTH DEVICES! So.... don't forget to make sure you hold down the answer/end call key until fast flash alternates blue to red and red to blue (ETC).
PASSCODE IS '0000' once again 14 hours... no less and DEFINALTEY NO MORE!
