My Dewalt 7.2-18v charger model #dw9116 is giving me a "problem powerline" indicator light. What does this mean?

If the charger is not working the input lines must be check for continuity on the both the lines, preferable one wire might be damaged hence it is not giving supply to transformer.....

From the manual.

Some chargers have a Problem Power Line indicator. When the charger is used with some

portable power sources such as generators or sources that convert DC to AC, the charger may

temporarily suspend operation, flashing the red light with two fast blinks followed by a
pause. This indicates the power source is out of limits.

May read instructions and see if charger is compatible of charging the two types of batteries you are charging ,,,,I have 32 dewalt 18v dc9096 batteries and 1d dewalt 18v dc9099 battery

let dry completely . if any corrosion on pcb clean with contact cleaner from radio shack

Could be either the charger OR the battery. Before spendin anything on a replacement try cleaning the battery and charger terminals with a Q-Tip moistened with alcohol. Even a small buildup of dust can cause the fault.

Here is a link to a number of 220v chargers that will work for you. You can, of course, use the 110v charger with a down converter.

Go to Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page at the bottom find the looking for manual box. Type in your model number and it will take you to a page click in the owners manual and download it from there it is 5 pages long.
