I bought a Nikon 5700 from the Pawn shop is it still covered for the recall if it needs to be fixed?

Most companies , you need the original receipt, but it is worth a call, tell them you lost receipt, usually all recalls are covered no matter what.

My flash isn't working on my Coolpix 5700. I'm

Hi.

From what I have heard Nikon has recalled the Coolpix 5700 because of the SB error. It has something to do with a connector coming away from the printed circuit board. I recommend that you get in touch with Nikon and see if they will repair the flash for you. Click on the link below to contact them.

The screen is blank and doesn't work. I take a picture and get a flash but the screen is black and doesn't show anything at all.

Known sensor problem.
Nikon USA have a recall - see their website
Nikon Europe tell you how to claim - see their website.
Nikon UK fixed mine after quoting the Europe data by e-mail.
Whichever, it goes back to Nikon to be fixed

Call This number 1-800-645-6689 select 1 for US then press 1 for tech support. They will give you the information and procedure that you need to do for the replacement.
