Replacement of bearings?

One of the suspension springs recently snapped on our machine causing a very violent stoppage of the drum. Replaced spring but now machine runs very noisily suggesting a bearings issue. Can I replace bearings myself?

SOURCE: the drum bangs on the spin

Two possibles for this are aloose balance block or cracked drum spider. The front block is most prone to coming loose.
To check spider rotate drum little by little and pull towards you to check for movement.
Post back if further help needed.
Thankyou

SOURCE: Noisy spin on hotpoint aquarius WF530 6kg washing machine. Suspect bearing how do I replace them.

If you spin the drum by hand, and it is niosy and rumbling then the main drum bearings have failed.
If under 5 years old, then you should be able to get it repaired under Hotpoint 5 year guarantee, You just pay for labour and call out, cheapest option, it is not really a D.I.Y job, as it is quite involved, and entails a lot of work.
Please rate my advice.
Thanks.

SOURCE: hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Washer vibrates badly in spin cycle.

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

I have an He3t/110 42922200. The drum hits housing on hi speed with a heavy load. Do I replace the drum suspension springs, the shock absorbers, or both?

Check upper springs first as one snaps on this model next make sure machine is level,if all else fails you could replace suspension legs/ struts....

My washer shakes real bad when spinning and makes a rumbling noise

You washer drum is running eccentric and so there is violent action while it is spinning in the cycles of wash and spin.
The fault gets unbalanced when the spinning cycle is ON as the clothes loose the weight of water and needs a stabilizing with a damper/suspension system.
Hence a fault in the suspension of the drum can be the element of fault. You will need to check if there is friction in drive system, check for free movement of the shaft.
Make sure the dampers are not faulty if so replace.
Finally check if the spring suspensions have gone out of the frame , changed or shifted. If so realign the springs to have the drum in the center.

Front seal not supporting drum, drum flops violently, doesn,t leak. seal wont stay on drum.

it sounds like you may have tub bearing issues or your suspension springs or shocks may be missing or broken. The front seal is just there for sealing, thats its sole purpose.
Basically there is two parts, the inner stainless steel drum and the outer plastic tub housing. Reach inside and see if you can move the inner stainless drum up and down any significant amount? If so the bearings are most likely shot. If its pretty solid but the outer plastic tub moves, its most likely a suspension issue. You can take off the top to get a much better view of the components.

Fast spin vibration

Is the bearing for the inner drum loose or the drum turning with a wobble (empty)? If that checks ok, then possibly one or more of the outer drum dampers is broken, worn out, or out-of-place. Shake the inner drum in various directions--there should be damped motion in any direction.

Shakes violently during spin

make sure your load is medium to large and mutiple pieces. One large bath mat or towel will cause it not to able to balance the load.
Also there is a service bulletin for excess vibration in these machines.
Read it at servicematters.com tech library, service pointers - Whirlpool Duet Sport and maytag machines (Your Kenmore is made by whirlpool and is a Duet Sport)

Suspension pads? where are they do you have a good diagram?

most suspensions on machines use 2 springs on top of the drum and 2 suspension legs on the bottom. ( similar to a car shock absorber) just make sure the bottom concrete counter weight is not loose , this will cause violent a shake
